SOTD April 9, 2018 Prep: Cold water and Stirling mentholated pre-shave soap Blade: Schick Razor: Schick B1 injector Brush: Stirling Kong synthetic Soap: Jeeves of Hudson Street Bay Rum Post: Witch hazel, Barbasol Pacific Rush aftershave Good shave to start the work week. I'm going to use Jeeves Bay Rum through Thursday. It's a great soap and rinses away cleanly in order to set the stage for any aftershave that you'd like. Went with some Barbasol Pacific Rush this morning for a menthol invigoration. Overall nice and easy shave. Have a great day!
April 9, 2018 OneBlade Genesis V2 Modified Gem Shavemac D01 3 Band C.O. Bigelow Fine Platinum Weekends really need to be at least 1 day longer. However, Monday means back to work and back to tax returns. The little Shavemac made quick work of lathering up the C.O. Bigelow. Three passes and touch ups left me just short of catching the baby. A splash of Fine Platinum and I think I might be ready for the day ahead. I hope everyone has a great Monday.
Thanks, Clint! This week will be at least 60 hours. The school musical opens Friday and we have tech week before that. All of that happens after school. But that's part of the job! It could be a lot worse.
April 9 I enjoyed a one pass plus touch-up shave with the Parker SRX loaded with a new Astra SP blade this morning. Since I only had one day's growth, I went mostly ATG. I can't get away with this on a daily basis, but it worked fine this morning. The RV brush and Mike's Natural Soap whipped up a nice, easy lather. I finished with witch hazel and USB. No scent this morning, since I'm with my kiddos at the hospital. I have really enjoyed seeing all the beautiful SOTD photos and reading your updates over the weekend. I especially enjoy reading about the progress being made by the new members or with newly acquired gear. Have a great day, gentlemen!
April 10 SOTD: Razor: Gem MMOC Blade: Gem Stainless Brush: Razorock Plissoft Lather: CO Bigelow Aftershave: Proraso Green Additional Care: Stirling Unscented PSB I honestly didn't need much a shave this morning, as just a few tiny rough patches kept me from skipping. A single pass cleaned those up nicely, and I would say this is a DFS. It was nice to use the CO Bigelow again, as I was definitely tired of the Arko Cool. I hope everyone has a great day!

April 9, 2018 Razor: H2 Gillette Slim Adjustable (5) Blade: Dorco Prime Platinum (3) Brush: VdH Luxury Boar Brush Soap: Williams Post: Alum, Listerine, WH Yesterday and today were the second and third shaves with the Slim and Dorco Prime Platinum, an excellent combo. I'm trying a new brush, the one from the VdH Luxury Boar Set (orange box with the apothecary bowl). This is not to be confused with the one from the "Premium" Shave Set (the one with the green bowl). The Luxury brush has a tradition vase-shaped handle with a metal band around the knot. It seems, however, to be a smaller knot than the one in the Premium brush. I did some pre-soaking and pre-lathering to try and start the break-in before using this brush. At this stage, though, I can't honestly say whether it is more luxurious than the "Premium" brush, however.
