Today was a good day. Estate sale down the street, and three bits of mail. (I’m a little into knives too.)
Thank you! No, they are Clauss Freedmont. The big fixed blade knifewith the red bits is a Wade & Butcher.
I received my last shaving order for awhile (I think?) since I will being buying a new ride very soon and have plenty of shaving stuff to use up! I need to enjoy my current acquisitions for a bit - at least until the Maggard's meet up! Today I received a package from PAA with: - PAA Avo Nice Shave Artisan Shave Soap & AS Cologne Bundle - Made with Avocado Oil & Chlorophyll - Planet 9 Crown King Artisan Shave Soap & CK Planet 9 Aftershave Cologne Bundle - Crown King Vintage Style Art Deco Porcelain Frog Blade Bank I really like the Planet 9 scent from the shampoo I have been using and have been waiting for the right time to pull the trigger on the bundle and get free shipping. Avo tipped the scale along with my birthday so I could not resist. I knew Planet 9 would smell great, and performance is not even in question, but I was taking a risk with Avo. Although I haven't lather the Avo soap, I can say the scent is fantastic from the puck, and the wife really likes it. It reminds me slightly of a floral scent, but not feminine. I will wait to lather before trying to describe it, but my initial impression is very favorable. Steve
It’s a mid sixties Imperial. Still had an edge. Going to do a little clean up and sharpening on it, and it will replace my little buck knife as something I can carry at work in slacks. What do you recommend for blades on the Fetherwieght? The ones I have are horrible.
If you have a CVS or Riteaid around they sell nice carbon steel blades. If you come up dry bump me with a PM. I have an imperial belt knife with a multiblade pocket knife in a pouch on the side of it. My Grandfather is said to have bought it in 1957. I have his Superspeed from the same year. The family..including my Dad whomwas 7..went on vacation tthat summer.
My wife picked this up for me at a yard sale yesterday. I’ve trained her well. Please don’t tell her I said that, lol. Inside I’m storing some of my straights. The safety razor on the top right, was my grandfather’s, it’s a Gillette president. It looks really nice, she made my day. She’s put up with all my collected of things over the years. I’m having problems posting pictures. I had to put it in black and white, for it to post. I’ll keep trying.
If you have the software for image manipulation, change the file format to GIF. Only 256 colors so it keeps the image large and looks mostly natural. You can experiment in The Post Testing forum. Just keep the files under 1mb. Other option is either off site hosting, or using your phone - Tapatalk App.
just arrive . was very dirty and stored for a long time.after cleaning british tech early 60s all brass. handle is 1/4 inch shorter than other diamond style handles.found locally.blades are canadian t-2 with late gillette logo.possible canadian packaging as i have not found a canadian made gillette made after 1953. lots of fun researching.
I picked up a lot off the bay the other day. I picked it up mostly for this beautiful Schick G-3. There was also several other SE and injectors, and two DE thingies. One was a speedway. Lot of plate loss on the head and the threads are on there way to being messed up. I hope to get a few shaves out of it. The other is a pure bakelite razor called a Slant Stroke. Not a slant at all. Very light. It is is pretty good shape actually.
Great score! Quite the mix ... the Speedway looks cool and the Slant Stroke looks interesting. That G3, in that condition, is a great catch!

Rotbart Mond-Extra RFB, silver plated fluted handle edition (the coolest I think). 73g. Missing a tooth so was priced accordingly. Very very nice razor. Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk
Somebody on the forums posted a photo of their 1930s Emir Engels, then I started reading about the Punktal 101 and yadda yadda yadda Greg Kahn's modern version, the Shavecraft 101 somehow showed up. Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk
