This morning’s shave. Omega break in continues. I’m at the point that I need to discard software in order to make room for anything new, so I’m shaving with software on the green mile. I really enjoy Crown & Crane soap but Kingsmen is a bit too talcum forward for me in the barbershop arena. I’ll be PIFing it or adding to the Shavey award cache. I also continue to be on the fence with Florida Water. Still time for the Governor’s Pardon on that one.
John named it The Dry Dock since he was able to use it to load and lather his big, Carrier Class, Kent BK-12 in it. Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk
Sounds like good progress. Once you get it, I think you will be impressed with how smooth those razors can shave.
Williams Wednesday 4.11.2018 Face Shave (24 hrs. growth) & Head Shave (5 days growth) Pre-shave: hot shower Brush: Barburys synthetic Soap: Williams Mug Shave Soap Razor: Pacific TTO Blade: Pacific (3) for the face shave then switched to a generic Dorco (3) for the head shave Post-shave: Assured WH, Aqua Velva AS Balm, Aqua Velva Ice Blue Cooling AS Day 2 for the $1 Pacific razor from Dollar Tree then I'll move on to something else tomorrow. I kept the Pacific blade for the face shave and it performed fine on just 24 hours growth. 2 passes and I was done with a DFS. I then moved on to the head shave with several days of growth and immediately had tugging and lack of cutting so I retired the blade. I inserted a generic Dorco I had on standby and continued with the shave. 2 passes, and some clean-up and I had a DFS on my scalp. This inexpensive razor gets the job done. Remarkable. Happy shaves everyone!
Thursday My first goal is to create the doughnut of death on this puck of AoS tallow so today's brush is an Omega Pro. The AoS worked great with the big boar and create lots of slick lather. I just refreshed this edge on CrOX and 50k diamond paste, wow what a difference, the edge was amazingly smooth. After the second pass, I knew I had a great shot at an epic shave. Finished the fourth pass and not even a tickle from the alum and a very close shave. Irritation A+ Closeness A+ Smoothness A+ Sharpness A+ Razor: Wade & Butcher Strop: T Miller Brush: Omega Pro Pre: Proraso Soap: AoS tallow AS: Enhanced Alt Insbruck AS, Edwin Jagger ASB Scent: Hèrmés Terre D’ Hèrmés
I'm trying to remember if I've ever done the Williams/Aqua Velva combination yet....after all, it says right in the Williams box to follow up with AV.
