  6. Here's another mild one that I quite enjoy, especially with a sharp blade...

  8. A Feather blade turns a mild razor like a SS or Tech into a very efficient tool.

  10. Yeah it does. Gillette Nacets have been working great for me as well.

Nice mild razor ... I enjoy mine. I usually buy the unusual razors. ;)

  16. If your patient ... deals can be found. I got mine for under $20.
  17. I believe we’re like minded on that:)
  18. Of course the early Super Speeds are notoriously (is that the right word here?) mild.

The one on the left is a 1952 (X2) and the one on the right is a 1949 (NDC-No Date Code but it has PAT NOS ON PACKAGE stamped inside rather than PAT NOS ON PKG).

And it wasn't just the steel and aluminum handled Black Tips from '51 and '52 that used less brass, this X2 has a steel baseplate. The all brass '49 is just a couple of grams heavier, probably because of that.

It's interesting (to me anyway!) how the red cases differ, the main thing being the much lower blade divider on the '49 case to the right.

These are just sweet and elegantly simple razors. There's not much to fiddle with and not much to go wrong. I like them a lot.

  19. Interesting! I never noticed the difference in the cases.

  20. I wonder what the notches on the sides of the left hand case are for. Maybe for a string or cord to keep the case from being opened? Like tie-wraps are used today?
