I was fortunate enough to try NOS Gillette Platinum Plus blades and bought these modern Gillettes because of the word "Platinum". I don't know what "Plus" meant in the old blades but these blades are lacking whatever it was. I've tried worse blades but there are many better ones out there. I really like the A&B balm, not greasy, leaves the skin both soft and toned, and the scent is a good companion to the Jermyn St. soap. Have a great weekend everyone.

Pre: Cold water face wash Brush: Wee Scot Cream: Vulfix Sicilian Lime Razor: DeHaven No.3 Blade: Chick Post: Cold water rinse, Proraso Green AS A few firsts today: first cold water shave of 2018, first use of a Wee Scot and first use of a DeHaven No.3, sold to me for a very fair price by @jmudrick, thank you sir, you're a gentleman. The Wee Scot has quite a bit of prickle and scritch, hopefully it'll soften with use. The DeHaven on the other hand is a winner from the word go, very smooth operator which gave me a DFS in two passes. Happy Shaving one and all.

Today's shave with the DeHaven was a cracker and the Pashana rounded it off beautifully. Happy Shaving one and all.

Pre: Warm water face wash Brush: Wee Scot Soap: T&H Sandalwood Razor: DeHaven Model 3 Blade: Proline B Post: Warm then Cold water rinse, Bart's Balm Rosemary & Sandalwood ASL I thought I'd see how the DeHaven coped with >30hrs growth and it did pretty well. It's a very smooth operator although not quite as efficient as a 1914, which was my initial thoughts but it took a bit more tidying up around the chin and neck than the 1914. All in all a decent shave, finished off with the lovely smelling Barts Balm ASL although personally I prefer the balm to the lotion. Happy Shaving one and all.
