Saturday Straights Shave Proraso Pre Shave Jeff's Soap Jayaruh #268 J.A. Henckels 5/8 CWR Thayer's Lemon WH Pinaud Clubman I started off with Proraso Pre Shave. Jeff's Soap face-lathered well with the Jayaruh #268 synthetic horse brush. I did two passes with the J.A. Henckels 5/8 Straight Razor and ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayer's Lemon WH and then Pinaud Clubman AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...
I used my Morley and Sons razor this morning. It was a pleasant and comfortable two pass shave. I can’t remember the last time I took this razor back to the hones, so it must be around a dozen shaves in now and still feels as good as when I last honed it. I’ve just been stropping it on my Drygulch leather. Not all steel is created equal.
I have been a very busy boy with no time to check in. Thank you for your concern Keith. I’m headed back to Idaho today from Alabama. I have a flight tomorrow morning to CA for another two state trip. I’ll be back home on Friday for a few days. Maybe I can catch up on the thousand or so posts I have missed then I hope all is well with you guys.

I hear you that is what has stopped me as well. Also speaking with honemeisters with much more experience than myself they have also advised me to stay away as the edge becomes too brittle. So I asked myself... spend $470.00 on a stone that may or may not work in my favor. I think I’ll wait lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
How do you like your W59 I have been meaning to buy one just to see the quality. Did you get this from Anthony Esposito already honed? That guy can put a wicked edge on anything! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Cold Mountain Select soap, Rainbow synthetic brush, C.V. Heljestrand Le Duc razor, Proraso Eucalyptus aftershave. One and a half passes, minimal blood, smoothness rating per Mrs. PR: 7 of 10.
1965 Corvette, a Japanese shorty made from the Austrian Schoeller-Bleckmann Phoenix Steel. The brush is the first three-band knot from life2short1971 (Scott Lockwood), and the handle is a temp, the knot isn't glued in. This one is worth mentioning because the hair is super soft yet has some - but not tremendous - backbone. There's a slight reddish tint at the top of the black band, and it reminds me a lot of that special batch of Simpsons 2-band of a few years ago. Cheers, Steve

I used my Henry Sears razor this morning. It’s not much of a looker, but it always gets the job done. It was a smooth and comfortable two pass shave.
