Thank you Jason. I used a DSLR set to portrait mode. On the computer desk the photos turn out like I know what I’m doing.

I use the Stirling bars and really enjoy them. Enough so that I travel with one now.

We are in the Birmingham area, a little south of the city. Auburn is a couple of hours away down Highway 280. Pretty little town!

Today is the first full day I have had at home in three weeks. So I spent my morning drinking too much coffee, and catching up (mostly) on 800 or so posts. It has been a really enjoyable month to follow. Morning coffee turned into a sandwich and a couple bottles of beer, followed by a nap and a really nice shave. We are still having early March type weather here, so I don’t even have to feel guilty about not doing spring yard work.

One of the disadvantages to being gone so much, is that I tend to just shave with my straights, and not keep them as sharp as they should be. I knew halfway through the first pass that the straight wasn’t going to go the whole nine, but I stuck it out for two passes. I grabbed the General for the ATG and cleanup to finish. I ended up catching the baby, but the General gets all the credit.

This awesome handle from @Jayaruh is now on its third knot, while I tried to find a good fit. I think this one is a keeper. I am a fan of best hair, but my only real frame of reference is Simpson, so I wasn’t quite sure what to hope for in this one. I think I would absolutely recommend Finest over this one, when considering TGN’s offerings, at least to a newer to badger shaver, but this is a good knot. It has some scritch to it, but if you enjoy that, which I really do on occasion, it has more backbone than even my Duke 3 Pure, and a very similar face feel. As my collection grows, it is harder and harder to keep things switched up and differently this brush is a really cool addition.

-Being optimistic, and always holding out hope for an evening narrated by David Attenborough, I broke out my secret weapon: Curveball. It is a Claiborne “Curve” clone, that was discontinued a few years ago. I have maybe an ounce or so left, and use it super sparingly, cause my wife really likes it. @ezlovan has said that it is not coming back, but I figure a guy can always pipe dream that it’ll maybe turn up as one of those Black Friday LE releases.

Gotta work tomorrow and hit the road in the P.M.. Miss you guys.

    Good afternoon gentlemen!

I'm on my mandatory rest day, coming at a good time, I'm fighting a cold. After a few hours sleep this morning I took a long hot shower and got a great shave in! Three pass no touch up, BBS. Bergamot Lavender was up today. Even with a plugged nose the wonderful scent came through. I'm a fan of citrus and lavender scents so this combination just works for me.

I'm back to work tomorrow night so not much of a weekend for me, I'll probably spend it trying to catch up on sleep. I hope everyone has a great weekend!

Thanks Clint! I didn't think lavender would be a scent I would like until I picked up a bottle of lavender scented Thayers. Combined with bergamot it's great. I ordered a full size bottle of the aftershave when I finished shaving. I figure I could pair it with citrus or lavender scented soaps.
