So played along with ARKO and an adjustable today. One fine shave from the M. The TOST LE was great and clubman musk finished it all up. BULLY!!!!!
Monday shave Only 18 hours since my last shave and not a lot of time so I went DE today. This Joris is one of my favourites, looks cool and is aggressive. I loaded with a GSB and decided to try reduce this tub of AdP as part of my focus finishing up as many soaps as I can this year. Irritation A Closeness A Razor: Joris (GSB 1) Brush: Shavemac silver tip Soap: AdP original AS: Speick AS, Edwin Jagger ASB Scent: YSL Rive Gauche
I'm telling you, Russian Steel is AWESOME!! Actually that would be 3 uses. I didn't even notice the typo.
I thought it might be a typo but I had to ask. I checked my blade sampler pack and the only Moscow blade is the Voskhod. I went ahead and placed an order through try a blade for the others. Thanks again for the generous offer. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
Sunday April 15th - late night refresher shave Supply Co V.2 SE on two-dot plate / Personna (?) JR #267 birdseye maple and boar brush Vitos (Susan Darnell Co.) Eucalyptus shaving cream Osage Rub - menthol and eucalyptus splash I had a quick pick-me-up shave between my evening and graveyard shifts. I found this shaving cream in my box of tubs and decided to give it a go. I suspect Vitos may make Omega's house branded shaving cream for it as the Omega cream is an almost identical tallow eucalyptus cream. Eucalyptus has a strong odour and a bit of zip on the face, making it a good choice for a cream to help keep one awake. Plus it pairs well with Osage Rub. A side benefit of this shaving cream is that it will help de-funk my boar brushes, which still smell a bit. (Is that why Omega sells a eucalyptus shaving cream? ) Actually I think I will use this cream and Osage Rub as my shaving combo for the rest of the month... See if eucalyptus has any noticeable skin benefits and also use up the tub...
Spring time is about settled in here on the South Coast, but further north there's still danger issuing multiple canine challenges.
After the nicky, tuggy, down right rough Wilkinson Sword blade experiment on Saturday, back to an Astra and back to a very, very pleasant start to the week. Face is smooth, the nicks from Saturday healed bar one tiny on. Lesson from this April is Wilkos do not suit me at all. Had two experiences of them one in a 33c last month and one in the Futur on Sat- neither was good for me and thus they have been binned. They must work for many people but def not for me. I'm not inclined to try them any more given I have a great option in place. I will do a Feather trial later this month just to see but that is just curiosity.
April 16, 2018 OneBlade Genesis V2 Feather FHS RV Rover with TGN Finest C.O. Bigelow Cream Fine Platinum Another weekend that was entirely too short. So that means Menthol Monday which brings out the CO Bigelow cream for its final appearance. @Drygulch mark me down for CO Bigelow. Up for duty this week is the Rudy Very Rover with a TGN Finest bulb set at 23mm x 48mm. Three passes and touch ups left me with a near perfect shave. A splash of Fine Platinum and I am ready for the morning commute. I hope everyone has a great Monday.
Star Razor Kampfe Brothers New Model Lather Catcher GEM Blade Maggard Plissoft Stirling Red Eye Soap and aftershave This guy takes a soft, deft touch and is by far the loudest razor I own, but delivers a really nice shave for a really old piece of gear. You can really hear the audio feedback when you nail the angle. Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
April 16 SOTD: Razor: Gem MMOC Blade: Gem Stainless Brush: Razorock Plissoft Lather: Jeeves of Hudson St Bay Rum Aftershave: Clubman VI Bay Rum Additional Care: Stirling Unscented PSB A nice one pass CCS this morning. Smooth and easy. I had at least 15 shaves on the previous blade, probably half a dozen or so more, as I took it out of another razor. The fresh blade this morning was definitely smooth. I hope everyone has a great day!
Micromaniac Day 145 Gem ClogPruf Gem Stainless (5) Semogue BC Mistura Arko Stick One pass and a little touch-up was all that was needed on this soggy Monday.
SOTD April 16, 2018 Birthday shave!! Prep: Cold water and Stirling mentholated pre-shave soap Blade: Schick Proline AC Razor: RazoRock Black Hawk Brush: JR #41 badger Soap: Country Club for Men Cahaba Blues Post: Witch hazel, Fine American Blend aftershave Terrific shave. This is probably my all-time favorite soap and my favorite aftershave. The Black Hawk was efficient and mowed down two days of growth with ease and comfort. The #41 badger from Jayaruh is exceptional as well. Really nice all around. Have a great day!
Out of curiosity, what is the country of origin of the Wilkinson Sword blades you were using: Germany or India?
