Superbly argued moral relativity! I think I will just try using the oil I already have in my cupboard though, thanks. I know I have glycerin and I think I have a bottle of lanolin somewhere too. I wonder what it would do. For that matter, I wonder what effect olive oil would have? Hmmm... Maybe time for an actual genuine experiment here...
Somewhere on this wonderful forum we call home is a thread on pre-shave oil with a recipe or two. I know olive oil is one of those recommended. And, in case it doesn't work, you can at least rub some lettuce on your face and enjoy a nice salad while shaving.
I think she may have been. I am not sure if she knew that, either. Ergo, it may remain a mystery to all of us forever, because after she slept that one off, the tape was all the evidence her commune mates had of the evening's events. On another note: She has many creative mushroom recipes.
Life milestone/bucket list: Be a part of a musical project who loses a member to a psych facility. Check. It's been a fun week.
Indeed. We all need to watch those around us. Some people are too tough for their own good. If you think someone is struggling, talk to them. Don't offer answers, rather, listen. Tell them that you don't have the answers, but that you're their friend, and that you just wanna be sure they aren't struggling alone.
Simply an awesome album. Played the stuffing out of Planet of Sound back in the day. Check out their cover of Leonard Cohen’s I won’t forget on his tribute album.
You had me scrambling to the CD racks in the basement again, Chris. Actually found it. Grabbed both Trompe Le Monde and their great track on the Leonard Cohen tribute for the truck tomorrow. Have Surfer Rosa around somewhere too.
That's gonna be a nice drive! Palace of the Brine is one of the greatest openers in all of rock. Great track sequence.
Ever Ready 1912 (Made in England) - Day 11 Blade - GEM Stainless (New blade) Brush - Bluebeards Doubloon Lather - Palmolive Shave Stick (mashed into mug) Post - Witch Hazel & Arko Natural Cream So I went back to the 1912 after the one shave with the Ming Shi Futur clone. The usual good stuff when shaving WTG and XTG on my cheeks, but I must say that the ATG pass that I do on my jawline (to remove visible stubble) was not anywhere near as smooth/comfortable as the Ming Shi. It felt once again that the hairs were being torn up at the roots, and I was left with a considerable number of weepers. The same 2 passes on my neck also yielded inferior results. Does anyone else have experience with SE blades not performing as well as DE blades? Are they too thick? Not as sharp? Or is it just that the Ming Shi set on '6' is a more aggressive and efficient razor?
I believe your angle of attack with SE is too high. SE closely approximates the blade feel of a straight razor. Proper attack angle is down around 15-20 degrees, lower than needed for optimal DE.
I feel as though I can't get the angle any lower without dragging the head plate across my face! It's really bizarre!
