hello folks wednesday night shave. ,back to the flat bottom tech, nacet blade second use.went with the jeeves this time around, nice stuff.2 pass combination shave. dfs.sunday s shave was very close so growth seemed less, even after 3 days. hard to shave with the same soap software over and over, nice to have some variety or it feels like the old days with 1 soap and a cart.getting better with the tech razor.better results with less passes.techs shave a little different to me compared to my ttos.still liking the nacets, smooth and sharp.have a great day, gary
Thursday April 19 - preshave experiment Prep: Dove Exfoliating Facial Scrub Pre: generic glycerine Supply Co V.2 SE injector on two - dot plate / Personna ( 6) Semogue Owners Club cherrywood Tuxedo brush Vitos Eucalyptus shaving cream Alum and Osage Rub I experimented tonight with rubbing on plain glycerin as a preshave preparation, then lathering directly over it. I started by washing my face thoroughly with Dove facial scrub so I began with squeaky clean and completely oil-free skin. I then rubbed in glycerin until my face felt well-moisturized not to mention downright greasy and proceeded to use the same shaving setup I have used for the last week. It was definitely a slick feeling shave. Two passes and a touchup pass along my jawline to bring home the baby with absolute silence from the alum. Was it slicker and smoother than normal with this gear? Uhmm, yes, I think it may possibly have been, a bit. Was there an enormous difference? Well, no. But then, the cream I am using already has tallow, glycerin, coconut oil and lanolin in it so the window for adding slickness is pretty narrow. Would I use preshave glycerin on a regular basis? No, not while I am already using good shave products. I could see using glycerin as a preshave if I was dealing with dry or chapped skin. It would also be useful to upgrade more dubious shaving products. It might be interesting to revisit my Dr. Bronner's alleged shaving product - currently slotted into the handsoap category in my bathroom - and see if a preshave swab of glycerin could make a difference. Or I could just shave with the good stuff and forget the whole extra step... Which I think ultimately answers the whole preshave soap question for me: with a whole cupboard full of topnotch soaps and creams, why bother?
Interesting experiment with the glycerin. I add a couple of drops per oz to my aftershaves. Seems to help with post shave feel. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
April 19, 2018 OneBlade Genesis V2 Feather FHS RV Rover with TGN Finest AOS Ocean Kelp Shave Cream Fine Platinum Last work day of the week for me. Asha and I will be taking a long weekend trip to Phoenix. A wonderful shave this morning was a great start to the day. The Ocean Kelp scent is really growing on me. I pick up herbal and citrus knots over a very clean base. Two passes and touch ups ended in a near perfect shave. A splash of Fine Platinum and I am ready to start the morning commute.

April 19 SOTD: Razor: Gem MMOC Blade: Gem Stainless Brush: Stirling Pro Lather: Jeeves of Hudson St Bay Rum Aftershave: Clubman Reserve Whiskey Woods Additional Care: Stirling Unscented PSB Back to work today, so a nice one pass with the MMOC was in order. The Jeeves and Stirling Boar whipped up a nice lather, and the shave was smooth. A little Whiskey Woods capped it nicely, and I am feeling ready for this last day of the work week for me. I am behind on the thread again, so I'll have to catch up at some point. I hope everyone has a great day!

April 19th Gillette SA-84 w Rapira Swedish Supersteel (3) Stirling Coniferous SS TGN Synthetic / Mahogany Thayers Pinaud Clubman AS Nice 3 pass shave this morning has left me quite smooth. A great Stirling lather with the Coniferous and I finished with my oft-neglected Clubman. I’m ambivalent about Clubman. Don’t love it, don’t hate it. One thing I’m certain of is that IT DID NOT get mailed and shipped across international borders via the USPS by a 30DCer. Never. I’ll switch up razors tomorrow, I think. Have a great day all!
April 19th Cold water WTG/XTG/ATG Timeless Bronze SB Feather HS (3) Semogue Owners Club Badger Stirling Soap Stirling AS Thayers Good morning gentlemen! Fine shave reports and excellent photos! Tough act to follow! Nice shave this morning, DFS. Quiet alum. A couple of spots along my jaw are a little rough, not sure how I missed them. Still, a nice shave. Stirling Dunshire this morning, what a wonderful scent! I have found more than a couple of favorites among the samples I picked up. I hope everyone has a great day! I'm off to bed. Great looking set up, Gary. Nacets are at the top of my list as well. See? You almost toasted a NB for nothing... Great photo, Jim. How was Louisiana? Safe travels, Perry. Awesome B & W photo!
Another gorgeous baberpole brush Mark. That is a great travel combo Perry. Have fun on the trip. Wonderful B&W Photo Jason. I can honestly say I am not ambivalent about Clubman. Great photo and lineup. Love the B&W.
