  1. Very nice setup, Neal!
I've stopped in at AOS a time or two but none of their scents really grabbed me. Too bad for the "just ok" performance.
    Nice report Patrick!
A beauty of a shave there, Fuzzy!
Very nice photo, Clint! Have a good trip with Asha!
    Great shot Ken!
Some day when life slows down I'll give straight shaving a shot. Until then I'll just live vicariously through the crew!
  2. Thanks!!!

  3. SOTD April 20, 2018

Prep: Cold water and Stirling mentholated pre-shave soap
    Blade: Schick
    Razor: Schick J1 injector
    Brush: Omega Hi synthetic
    Soap: Mitchell's Wool Fat
Post: Witch hazel, Fine American Blend aftershave

Fat Friday setup with excellent results. The Fat is a tremendous soap and Fine American Blend is an all time favorite. Great way to end the work week.

I'm still down in Montgomery, Alabama until tomorrow. Have a couple of meetings and clinics today and will watch the All-State bands rehearse some. My wife and boy are here so we'll go out to eat and do some other activities. Pretty relaxed day!

@clint64 - have a great trip with Asha! Send some photos of the campus. Have a great day, everyone!

    Stirling Mentholated Pre-shave Soap
    Gillette Fatboy
    Gillette 7 O'Clock Super Stainless
    Stirling Boar
Jeeves of Hudson Street 'Bay Rum'
Baxter of California Shave Tonic and ASB

After a couple of shaves with midgrade blades I decided I was going to pull out a top tier. Originally I was going to use a Rapira Platinum Lux but I didn't have any in my bathroom stash. Then I looked for a Nacet, same story. So I ended up with the 7OC SS. Washed my face with the Stirling Mentholated PSS and super gooped the Jeeves Bay rum and away we go. #6 on the FB gives just the right amount of blade feel and efficiency while still being oh so smooth. Three passes later I caught the baby and I finished up with the Baxter of California duo for my daily face freeze. Have a great weekend everyone!

    TGIF!!

  8. Careful. Comments like that are how a loaner set of straight and strop get sent to you.
  9. He's serious. I've seen him do it.

  10. LOL, believe it or not I have three straights and a couple of strops. Of course my straights aren't shave ready. But the real hurdle for me learning to shave with a straight is being able to set aside the time to do it.

  18. Same here. I've heard of the Wilkinson Sticky but @MR41 's is the first I remember seeing in a photo.

If AoS draws folks at the mall and leads them to thinking about Wet Shaving, then I'm a fan. Their cream give good lather but I gotten spoiled by in your face scents by other producers. Maybe the other choice are stronger scented?

Hope you had a less traumatic encounter with the Clone. I've "tamed" several aggressive DE's through those techniques that get mentioned here. Lopped the top off a mole, too. It's a Shave Journey, not a destination.
  19. East coast of Canada. Worse i think

    Freestyle Friday
Loaded up the 1912 travel set with a Gem blade that looked lonely. Swished around a good lather of Colgate with the Omega boar and went to town. Shaved in all directions till I felt smooth and splashed some witch hazel and Aqua Velva on for good measure . Its Friday yaaaaah .
