Wow. That is going to be a crowd. Just enjoy. It’s only money. I’ve been telling myself that all weekend.

That’s the place. We did a little short 2 mile hike. At least we got out of the city for some of the day.

And meanwhile, somebody back at the office is pissed because he didn’t get to go to the thing you were forced to go to, and probably wouldn’t have, given a choice.

We drove past Lone Mountain Road in the way back to Hwy 101. Very nice area. I love the way the homes blend into the landscape.

Exactly. The dream is to clock out at 5PM and not worry about it. However, you do get some “free champagne “ with that ulcer and hospital stay. Cheers!

    Pre-shave: hot shower
    Brush: Omega boar '49
    Soap: VDH Luxury
    Razor: Gillette '57 C-1 Superspeed Flare-Tip
    Blade: Wilkinson-Sword (3)
Post-shave: T.N. Dickinson's WH, Dove Men PS Balm, Pinaud Clubman VIBR AS

Today I went with the first vintage razor I acquired for my Shave Den nearly 2 years ago. I have not used this razor for a long, long time and I remember it used to cause me some bloodshed so I was shy of it. However, today it provided me with an excellent close and comfortable shave. I concentrated on riding the cap.... taking my time... not adding any pressure... and stretching skin. Technique overcame my previous lack of skill.

    Happy shaves everyone!

I'm a steep angle shaver, so the more blade exposure, the more I really have to go light on the pressure or I get terrible razor burn. This baby is so smooth the first time I used the C I got a decent amount of razor burn because the smoothness of the razor fooled me. The next shave with the C went great, and the third was pretty good too. I have also been playing around with the B plate, but I find it tad to mild too get a great shave, without over shaving.

    Great set-up, Jared!

Wonderful photos of a beautiful daughter! You have many reasons to be a proud father!

FYI.... sounds like she was subtly telling you NOT to wear the Black Ice AS at her graduation party. ;)

    Who's lieing?...

I am saying again your DE stuff is gonna get all dusty..

    Bahhhhhhhhh

I only hack on folks I get along with....

I like the other guy to shoot a 9mm. I currently carry a Judge Public Defender.

I knew he was not talking about me.

I shoot a .45 colt and .410 buckshot out of a Judge..the rest is noneya!

It's fun to get above ya rasing at times. Looks like you blend in and the lovely Wife is happy...bonus all day long.

I miss the desert. Glad the trip is going good for you. If you get through Tucson drop my Los Beto's and send me a burrito. Just pick one at random they are all good...or were 17 years ago when I was there

Can I endorse the Method for you? I have plenty of experience ripping my face off, and it has slowly taught me to use no pressure. Unfortunately, I'm slow learner sometimes.

Since we are on the subject of great shaves I will throw todays in the mix. Picked up a Valet Autostrop VC4 the other day. Wow great shave first time out. Have to use the feather SE in it as the modified gem does not work in these. VDH select and my Semogue 1305 was a great combo. I went for the awesome sauce finish with special reserve. Veddy veddy nice shave. The VC4 has a solid safety bar and is as smooth as my favorite 1912. Folks life is good in the Fuzzy hood.

Congratulations, but 300?!?! You’re going to need to smoke allot of meat. I’m sure it will be fun party!

Reminds me of living in the desert. Lots of happy memories. So many great hiking venues in Arizona

Well...the shavette is gone. I accept that I'm not up to the challenge at this point, or more accurately, willing to take the challenge. There may come a time, but today is not the day.

Don’t let these guys goad you into it. I’m over a year into the 30 DC and still working on easing in to the straight. Shavette? Not yet. Unless I hear the call of MAYhem...

Yeah, sure! Endorse away! I'm also a slow learner too, apparently. It took me a long time to break my old cartridge habits, but I finally got there. After my tango with the shavette, when I shaved with my DE this morning, I was VERY, VERY carefully watching the pressure, or lack thereof. While being a redneck might be in style in certain areas, having a red neck isn't in style anywhere. ;)

I won't be the one to dare you. In fairness, nobody dared me either. It was available, so I tried it. But, I done learnt my lesson. For now.
