Today's adventure as it is Wednesday, normally R41 day however, the postman delivered what I'm likely going to try as a combo next month....anyway I could not resist Razor : FaTip Gold Classic Soap: Arko Blade: Feather Balm Speick Splash Speick No reviews as such since it was shave #1 with this razor. Suffice to say it was an enjoyable shave. This razor takes a little more care in terms of angle and I've one tiny nick where I stopped concentrating but that's my fault. Finish on this is excellent so it was a great start to the day.

April 25, 2018 OneBlade Genesis V2 Feather FHS “Rowl” Shavemac D01 2 Band C&E West Indian Lime Folsom & Co Capri The big flat top provided plenty of scrub while face lathering the West Indian Lime. I started with an ATG pass followed by a XTG pass. After minimal touch ups, I managed to catch the baby which is a rare thing for me on work mornings. A splash of F&C Capri kept the citrus theme going. I hope everyone has a great Wednesday.
Goodlooking Fatip. Congratulations on a good first shave with it too. Succinct. A shave report and words to live by combined. Great photo as usual. Do you get smoother shaves generally when you go ATG first?
April 25th Gillette Black Beauty w Nacet (2) Stirling Gin & Tonic SS Finest Fan / Maple Thayers Florida Water Finally some warm weather here, so I pulled a combo that I thought was quite Spring-like. I am completely smooth after 2+ passes this morning. Unfortunately, I also have about 5 weepers, a couple that needed the Styptic. Apparently, from yesterday to today, the TTO on the BB was backed off quite a bit, probably a quarter turn or so. Not sure how, one of my kids maybe? I’ve heard occasional mention that backing off a 1/4 turn on a Gillette TTO is a good idea. I do not recommend that after this morning. Oh Well, nothing serious. Have a great day all!
That is good advice, I pulled the super-speed out last night, and put the brass beauty away. I'm going to to do another rule, probably with the 6 c and try to master theses big, heavy razors. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

The shaves are smooth but are much closer in two passes when I start ATG. I only do this with certain razors and blade combos. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Great picture, Jason! I agree with you on backing the TTO off a 1/4 turn; it has never gone well for me either. There just seems to be too much blade chatter.
April 25 SOTD: Razor: Karve Christopher Bradley Blade: Rapira Swedish Super Steel Brush: Razorock Plissoft Lather: Jeeves of Hudson St Bay Rum Aftershave: Aqua Velva Ice Blue/Musk mix Additional Care: Stirling Unscented PSB Another smooth shave with this razor. 2 passes and DFS+. Honestly, this razor is one of my favorites. I enjoy the heft and how easy it is to work around my face. Shave reports while using the razor will be boring. I will have to break out the bolt head razor for MAYhem. I hope everyone has a great day!
Good photo and it looks like it should have been a great combo. I always doublecheck my razors before I use them now, ever since the blade corner slipped out past the bladestop on a Gem 1912 one day and left a set of gouges down my cheek... Beautiful photo. How do you like the MdC Citrus?
Fantastic setup Neal. Russial Steel, Turkish Lather, American Brush, A nice diplomatic setup! Pressure right now is probably your biggest enemy. With a heavy razor your might actually have to hold some of the weight of the razor off your skin. Try to wipe away the lather without making any indention in your skin. Consider this; a bad angle with no pressure just means that whiskers don't get cut. A bad angle with pressure means your going to be feeling some pain. I'm glad you are enjoying it, Fuzzy! Sounds like a great setup, Chris! Maybe time to souse it ? That gold FaTip sure is pretty, Ken! We are not worthy, Very nice Jason! The Gillette adjustables definitely weren't designed to backed off a little.
