I do want to give a long overdue update of my Shavette use from a PIF @Bama Samurai did in February. He sent me a Leopard shavette that uses half DE blades, along with 34 blades. I have a lot of experience with a straight, so this should have been a breeze, right? I got about 22 shaves from it, and I am throwing in the towel. While I got socially acceptable shaves from it, I also got a lot of razor burn and weepers. I never got to the point where I started to feel the way the blade was reacting to my face and react. Bottom line, yes I can use a shavette, but I don't really like it. So this bad boy is getting cleaned and disinfected, and becoming a Shavey award for this year. The "Need to Step Up My Game" award. This is a self-nominated award, meaning no one is going to get stuck with a razor they won't use. If you don't have a shavette and want to try one out, this may be for you. I'll put some pictures up in the Shavey thread.

Wow!

This month is jumping! So nice to see all the familiar faces, as well as those who have recently joined in the fun.

If you're new to traditional shaving, don't feel like you need to keep up with the shenanigans. I, for one, am planning on doing a random blade Focus, and will be available to talk all things technique. You may find that doing a strict 30 Day rule is the fastest route to shaving nirvana. Those who master the tools truly appreciate this for what it is. Results are not the result of expensive gear. We are about to prove that to you for the next month.

To the vets, pass the guacamole and have a good time.
