Pre: Warm water face wash Brush: Vulfix 404 Badger/Boar Soap: Cella Razor: Colonial Brass General Blade: Kai Pink Post: Warm then Cold water rinse, Cella ASL The Kai Pink performed perfectly well in the General, not bad blades at all. The 404 is coming into its own now and is becoming a pleasure to use, nice backbone, good exfoliation without discomfort, a decent brush for a decent price. Cella soap and splash, great staples, can't say any fairer. Happy Shaving one and all.

Thu. 5/3/18 Good morning gentlemen. A truly fine three pass shave this morning with the Pal Adjustable. Marvelous lather from the Tabac shave stick. I finished with Fine L'Orange.... smooth and refreshed. Enjoy your day friends. ☺️
This has been an SE week for me and today I’m using my Gem g-bar that I won in a TSD raffle. It was a close and comfortable shave. Interestingly enough, when I got it, the shaves were rough and I would nick myself. I then compared it to the g-bar that my son “borrowed” from me about a year back and I found the source of the bad shaves. The blade stops were bent slightly up on my recently acquired Gem and it caused the blade to be too far forward, which changed the blade exposure. With needle nose pliers, I gently bent the stops back in place and the shave is now just like my old Gem... fantastic!
Thursday's Shave Proraso Pre Shave Proraso Sandalwood Jayaruh #274 Boar Pal Injecto-Matic Schick Proline B20 CWR Thayer's Lemon WH Granddad's AS I started off with Proraso Pre Shave. The Proraso Sandalwood Shaving Cream face-lathered well with the Jayaruh #274 boar brush. I did two passes with the Pal Injecto-Matic with a Schick Proline B20 blade and ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayer's Lemon WH and then Granddad's AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

Just getting going this week. That was my third shave this week with it but I had used it about a dozen times before the 3017 attempt. Tomorrow will be a sojourn with The Fat, but I'll be back to it on Saturday. I weighed the soap and mug before I started and plan to weigh it after Saturday's shave to see how much has been used.

Nice Brush! Did you make that mug? Very nice --- I made some williams mugs (busier looking) - i like that one as well - I get the williams pucks for 99 cents at my local grocery store - i got three pucks in my my mug i grated one puck to fill in the voids from the other 2 pucks - works really nice with a coffee mug that is a little bigger than a traditional shave mug.. i use the ZY oc/cc with its normal cap and WCS handel - never thought of the yaqi cap - good Idea. but that ZY oc/cc is one hell of a razor - I personally find it AGGRESSIVE - i just pay attention and have no issues - i get a FAST bbs ..
Yep, I had that mug printed up by one of those online companies that does custom labels. I just uploaded the design and got the mug in the mail a few weeks later. It only has one side printed, and I kind of wish it was printed on both sides, but I like it a lot. My process for preparing Williams involves grating one and a half pucks into the mug -- no packing down. Next I pour in hot water (almost boiling) and stir the mixture until all the soap is liquid. Then I add about 15 to 20 drops (approx.) of glycerin, stir it one more time, and leave it to cool. It becomes solid again after a couple of hours. That's it; the soap stays hydrated even after sitting a week or two. All this just makes it easier to load my brush, and I can almost always get a good lather out of modern Williams. The ZY Combo razor is one of my favorites! I agree, it is a bit aggressive, but it mows smoothly through any amount of stubble. Fast and easy. -- Sammy
