Hey my brothers - here's my SOTD: Nivea Facial Wash Razorock Plissoft 26mm Monster Super Speed/Astra day 4 Reitzer SS Fino Soothe ASB Drakkar Noir EdT A wonderful, comfortable BBS shave - this Reitzer soap surprised me because as a rule olive oil can prevent a soap from lathering well, but I had no trouble getting good, rich lather from this stuff. I bloomed it for about five minutes and then loaded my brush for twenty five seconds and I had more than enough lather for two passes. I also find the scent lovely and the skincare very good. The Fino balm is marvelous - pretty well unscented and so gentle on a freshly-shaved face. Enjoy your day!
Thursday May 3, 2018 Razor: Gillette Atra Handle (original) Cart: Generic (1) Pre Shave: DIY Lather: Gillette Foamy AS: Mennen "afta" After Shave Newspaper Date: July 27,1945 A really nice 2 pass, WTG/ATG awesome shave, I only say awesome because it wasn`t supposed to be, with a generic cart and lather in a can. Everything went swell, smooth, fairly close with no blood. I actually got a BBS (or close), So, after a cold water rinse and a generous dose of "afta" after shave, I feel good to go. Will wonders never cease. My meds held up throughout, Happy Camper here wishing for great shaves for all, God Bless and good luck. Bill

MAYhem 2018!!!!! May 3 Razor - Kampfe Star - Lathercatcher Blade - (1) Soap - Island Hopper Brush - 30 DC LE Post- Alum MAYhem for me this year means doing a lot of different things. Some stupid, some not so stupid. This is one of the "not so stupid" ones. After spending a month with the MMOC awhile back, Fuzzy @wchnu suggested I try a lather catcher style razor. And, because he's a generous kind of guy, and a world-class enabler, he sent me a couple of his to borrow and try out. He also sent soap and some Treet SE blades. Carbon of course. So, tonight I pulled out the LE brush and the soap he sent and whipped up a fine lather. The Island Hopper soap is totally new to me and I can't really detect a strong scent. However, the lather was cushy and slick. The two razors he sent were the Kampfe Star and a Gem Junior. I chose the Kampfe for tonight and I can say, much to the Fuzzters relief, my wife will not try to "acquire" this razor. She watched me use it for about half of the shave, declared me still a bit on the "off" side of things, and left me to finish in peace. No danger of her wanting one of these. My experience with this razor and setup? Quite nice! The blade is extremely loud and I like that. The razor is all about angle, and once you're set it does a very fine job of shaving. Which is exactly what it's supposed to do. Having a single edge blade barely guarded and working is a lot like a straight razor blade does and I have no doubt that carelessness could be a bloody mistake. However, I took my time, did three passes, ended up DFS and enjoyed the shave very much. I'll be giving it a few more goes for sure!
