May 4th CJB Painstick w Feather Pro Cooper MonoBilt w Polsilver Jeeves of Hudson St Apothecary 30DC LE Thayers Barrister’s Reserve Cool AS First day of my own MAYhem. Pulled out the pain stick. Whipped up a great Jeeves lather and put Feather Pro to face. Nicked myself pretty good around the left side of my mouth with the heel of the blade, but did get through a pass. One other minor cut but overall, not bad. I’m absolutely lousy when I have to switch hands. Did a full 2nd pass with the MonoBilt and am quite smooth. Have a great day all!
Enjoy your weekend Perry! TGIF! Arizona teachers went back to work today after securing a 9% pay raise.
Sweet setup and photo amigo! Have a wonderful trip to Bama. Congratulations to Asha! Arizona awaits! OO RAH!
Thank you, Clint! Thank you, Mark! I've been following some of the news from Arizona as well as the earlier protests in Oklahoma and Kentucky and West Virginia. 9% - wow! Good for them.
Late post as I've been busy but Fatip Day #5. Another one sorted. Slight rash on neck, pressed to hard for a second. I know I did it and the result was predictable so lesson learned. Blade change Saturday tomorrow - another Astra going in, then after that Feathers get a week. Eau Sauvage arrived just as finished up - thank you Mr Postie! - so I finished the shave with a classic scent. Thus was a good start to the day albeit I'm talking bout it late
May 4, 2018 Razor: B4 Red Tip ('Heavy') SuperSpeed Blade: VdH Stainless Brush: VdH Boar Soap: Williams Post: Alum, Listerine, WH Another great shave from this razor, warts and all. All the discussion yesterday about the Light/Regular/Heavy SuperSpeeds got me thinking about a video that used to be a favorite of my daughter when she was a certain age...
I hope to follow suit soon. There appears to be just one shave left of the Fiels&Streams, but then when I saw KillerQ's video of the Long Rifle soap, and how he could make so much from 1 or 2 oz.,,,who's to say???
Lot of great reports and photos this morning, gentlemen! Jim @Norcalnewb - congratulations on successfully hiding another soap under the green beans! Clint @clint64 - hope you have a wonderful trip and excellent weather for Asha's graduation ceremony. You are obviously very proud of her and her acomplishments, and she fully deserves that!
Romero... Great video, Fuzzy. You have a lot of faith in the Epoxy! Great looking combo, Jim. The Jeeves is certainly top tier lather. Hope you are back home now, and if not, safe travels. The Shaveys are fantastic, and an incredibly cool and generous gesture. Keep posting! Enjoy the trip, Clint! What a fantastic reason for a family weekend away. Great looking gear, Perry. Is the G5 a similar shave to the ‘66’?
Mute the corners? It's a training wheels maneuver that keeps the heel or toe from causing wounds on set down. I found it helped me when using a longer bladed Weck shavette.
A few people have suggested that, Rick. Might try it. Is it just me, or are these Feather Pro blades sharper than DE or Injector blades? The cuts come quick and easy!
Thank you, Jason. Yes, the G5 and G4 seem to be pretty similar. They feel a little different than a G1 but they're still smooth and efficient. The '66' will be up for tomorrow's shave.
