Couple of new things tried out today. I ordered some more Stirling bath soaps this week, and threw in a bar of the mentholated pre shave. I was honestly hoping for a bit more of a chill. I smeared up my face real well, then left it on while I built my lather. It was crisp, maybe, but I was hoping for a bit more.
The Captain’s sample was tossed in with my bowl I bought a couple of weeks ago. It’s a VERY soft soap. More like a cream, or like the V1 Dr Jon’s. The scent of North is sort of juniper woods. It has a good strength, and is nice. It makes a lot of lather. When I try a new soap, I often like to start it in a bowl, then finish it on my face. I worked it in the bowl until the peaks were softening, and it started to shine. Went to my face with it, and slowly worked in a few dribbles. It gets where it needs to be, and makes a really slick, if maybe not the stable-est of lathers. Residual slickness is good, and the post shave feel was good. It deserves another run.
