Thanks, gentlemen! Sometimes I get so caught up in the idea of reconditioning and using vintage razors that I forget the entire purpose is to have an enjoyable shave. And of course, back in the day, not everybody liked all razors equally either: otherwise there would only be a single model out there anyway.

I really need to print out that slogan and tape it on my bathroom mirror...

Btw, Adam @Drygulch, bear in mind that if you don't think you would enjoy shaving with a sharpened can edge, that slogan says you don’t have to do it... (But if you're going to do it, I would think the top of the can would provide a slightly thicker piece of metal to sharpen and would hold a better edge than a piece of the side...)

The ATT H plate truly is a beast of a razor. Light touch, two passes, bbs finish. The AS had a bite to it, cooled things down with some Stirling Glacial Unscented PSB. Have a great day my friends!

Thanks Clint, forgot to mention. Thanks to the efforts of The Soap Destroyer today I probably only have 3 shaves left on the Amici.

Thanks Paul! Strictly utility to drop the right sized pucks into a mug for lather loading.

Old Spice mugs are hard to spot in the wild. When visiting thrift & antique stores I check the coffee mugs shelf. Because these are shorter than the others, they duck and cover. The most I've paid for one is $19, and it's a Hull Pottery ceramic in very good condition. The others are glass of various generations - subtle differences in shape and different ships. Best deal was at a Goodwill shop for $0.79 w/tax.

The Stirling label was easy and convenient. Unwrapping the clear plastic, the sticky back circle peels off and reapplies to the mugs. I have four of the samples going right now (and four of this style OS mugs) so I needed to remember which is what.

I have made a rule for myself that in the interest of trying to keep up with this thread, I am rarely going to comment on individual photos. Please know that the photo skills on this thread constantly blow me away. They also do a great job enabling my ADs. Glad to be a part of everything, even if I'm not commenting all the time. I also realized this weekend that I am seriously slacking in the Mayhem this year. I need to work on that.

I thought you were just unanimously awarded the Academy's first ever Lifetime Achievement Award for your mad skills with menthol, weren't you? Just how much of a "slacker" do you plan on being in this year's Mayhem?

Andrew @Linuxguile - I'll share a story that verges on child abuse. I'm the oldest of 3 boys, and raised 4 kids of my own. When I was little, and because my folks shared this I did it for my little ones. Put a metal spoon in the freezer. When it's good and cold catch your fussy one, put the cold spoon in their mouth, and press the gums where the tooth is trying to cut through the gums. There may be screaming and some small amount of blood. You won't be trying to do it all in one step - just numbing the tissue and doing a little cutting between the tooth and spoon. Taking the slow relatively painful process up a notch seemed to help my kids, and it gave hours of relief from their discomfort at the expense of a quick moment of pain. Now days I think those freezable liquid filled chew toys are the California Approved alternative. Not the ones from the pet store.

Thanks Rick. We have one of the freezable teething rings but he doesn't seem to like to use it. Maybe we would have better luck with a spoon.

Shaved early this morning, but didn't have a chance to post. Was quite rushed this morning and didn't think the pain stick would be all that receptive to that particular parameter. Pulled out the I1 with Personna Twins already loaded. No idea how many shaves are on it, but it was still smooth this morning. Went with the Palmolive for 'Menthol Monday' and finished with the blue Balm.
Two passes and a little jawline touch up and I'd call this a DFS.
    Have a great day all!
