Scent on this is very strong but lovely! This from what I read is also a Fougère. Still not familiar with what makes a soap a Fougère, but I seem to have a thing for them. A&E should be called the lather Kings, this soap is extra thirsty and had to add water to each pass. Adding water doesn’t bother me especially when I get these results. Soap is very slick and performs amazing. It has a very strong cologne type of scent strong enough that the second you open the lid you get smacked in the face with it. Got a half decent shave not because of the soap but because of the razor. I got this razor shave ready but it is not to my standards so I think I’m going to go back and refresh this beast. Another shave with the Edvin Neiström Swedish steel this morning. A great shave with the exception on one minor cut where I always seem to do this. The work on perfection continues, but the shave quality under the chin on the neck was probably the best ever today.
Today's shave was with an old Sheffield Razor. I had a very smooth 2 pass shave, with minor touch-ups, that left me BDBS. Zero Issues, just smooth shaving. Razor- George Wostenholm & Sons. "EBRO", Sheffield. Brush- Stirling Boar Soap- Arko/Avon Spicy Aftershave- Shulton Old Spice. Old Spice Lighthouse Decanter.
I needed to break out my favorite razor in order to reassure myself that the Lund hadn’t surpassed it. Nothing else comes close to the deceptive butter knife smoothness of this razor. Deceptive because it is as sharp as anything else in my den. The Barber's Delight Straight Razor Ever-Ready #1 Boar Brush (restored) Love My Skin Sailor's Spice Soap Dickinson's Witch Hazel Avon Brisk Spice After Shave (Locomotive Decanter) It's been a while since I used a straight razor because of my past injury effecting the nerves in my hand has been acting up. When my hand gets in certain positions, it has a paralyzing effect, and I don't need that when using a straight. But today seemed like a good day to use it. Went with two passes, WTG and XTG for a good DFS. Still can't get the hang of ATG, but this is fine for now.
Beautiful scales on that razor! For me, I find it hard to beat the Russian, and the gold dollar razors. They just plain work.

6/8 vintage T.I. Oleo Polar (canard) Thater boar I really enjoy using these vintage razors. Nice shave this morning. I don't think I'll wax poetically about the brush or the soap. Both are very decent but I have stuff I prefer. I have enough of the newer soaps to play with for a long time but I think I'm going to head back toward the more traditional shaving soaps. Have a good one.
WACKER “Jungmeister” Full Hollow 7/8 Spanish Point She just came in the mail.Tested the edge with my thumb pad.Sharp but not to my standards. So I did a sharpton glass progression 4K,8K and 16K.Finished the edge on Purple Welsh Slate and an Escher . Shave was outstanding.Edge came out smooth a silk.I really like how this razor was made.It has a fair amount of weight which assists in removing whiskers with almost no effort. Her balance is great for a 7/8 blade. She also like to sing loud to give you nice audible feedback. What more could a man ask for .
