**When I finish with this one, I'll switch over to Mennen Skin-Bracer. Cool-Wave is nice, but there's something more "tradional" "vintage" about Skin Bracer.

 

Today's shave was with an old Sheffield Razor. I had a very smooth 2 pass shave, with minor touch-ups, that left me BDBS. Zero Issues, just smooth shaving.

I needed to break out my favorite razor in order to reassure myself that the Lund hadn’t surpassed it. Nothing else comes close to the deceptive butter knife smoothness of this razor. Deceptive because it is as sharp as anything else in my den.

It's been a while since I used a straight razor because of my past injury effecting the nerves in my hand has been acting up. When my hand gets in certain positions, it has a paralyzing effect, and I don't need that when using a straight. But today seemed like a good day to use it. Went with two passes, WTG and XTG for a good DFS. Still can't get the hang of ATG, but this is fine for now.

All "Boosters" are famous for originating in the 1920's and used by barbers(I only know this because many times @Yehuda D makes me jealous by showing it in his SOTD.

 

60% castor oil
40% olive oil
I add a few drops of vitamin E
a few drops of essential oil of your choice (optional)
I chose orange because it was a big bottle and was cheaper.

I used a fruit jar(quart) added 6 cups of castor oil and 4 cups of olive oil. The other ingredients are optional. This is not rocket science. it`s just an oil to protect and make your skin slick. Good luck and God Bless, Bill
