I need to focus on changing my thinking of "ahhhh, it's pretty close to being done(the soap puck)to "it ain't done til the last dog barks".

Thank you, Clint! Hope you're enjoying having Asha home for a little while. I noticed the comment about her walking the dog in the morning! It's always nice to have someone help you with responsibilities.

Razor: B4 Gillette Red Tip SS
    Blade: German Wilkie (2)
    Brush: Razorock Plissoft 22
    Soap: Williams
    Post: Alum, Listerine, WH

I'm a couple of days behind, so let's just say that the previous two days were excellent shaves with the Impoverished Patrician.

For today's shave, I turned again to my recently acquired Red Tip. This is the one which had all the corrosion. With all the cleaning and polishing, it has taken on an interesting character with its shiny brass and copper-colored patches. As for the shave? It's hard not to sing the praises of a Red Tip so I'll only say that the shave was as nice as I would have expected.

BTW, to answer what seems to be the topic of the day, I did not bloom or souse the Williams. I am, however, a believer in the Microclimate Theory, so my puck lives in a closed container when not in use in order to prevent drying out.

Fantastic photo, Jim! I've always like the looks of the Blackbird.
Another cool shot of the JR. Has your prefrence changed from the SS to the CS SE blades ?
Anways nice to get a compliment from the Mrs!
Sweet show, Ken! They are both nice!
    Wow, that's a beautiful handle!
    Very nice, Perry!
    I wholeheartedly agree!

I do prefer the carbon blades. Stainless PTFE would be my second choice, but the carbons really have that extra audible feedback and are still smooth. Beyond performance, they pair up better with the vintage razors aesthetically. I know they look the same as stainless so not aesthetically like that - but rather because that would have been the type of blade used in these old razors in their heyday.

Very nice 3 pass shave this morning. The secret to this TFS soap is tonnes of product, it then becomes a very good performing soap. No issues and am quite smooth.
    Have a great day all!

A cool sounding soap with a great story behind it. Nice photo as well, Jim.
I'm not a bloomer, or a souser, or a soaker, but yes, I'd add water to bring an old puck back to life as well...
    Great looking set up, Keith.
No need to add the effects, the b&w works well!
Just a simple stunner, Clint. You've come back to the C&E Lime a few times- either it is really growing on you, or you are trying to use it up...
Sounds like a great shave to start the day. I haven't heard you mention the ZiPeppino before, how is it?
Thanks, Andrew. Didn't try to cover up the pic on the AS bottle, though. We've talked of this before, but I swear their labeling will have cost them sales.

Thanks, Jason! Zi'Peppino is very similar to The Lounge by Stirling. I remember you mentioned you have some Lounge. Fresh, verdant, green tobacco. I actually bought it to use with The Lounge as a complementing scent. Then I remembered there was a leftover tub of Zi'Peppino from the soap pass-around box, so I adopted it as well.

Face feel is pretty good. Scent strength is also good. It's cheap, too, maybe $8 US from Italian Barber.

I really enjoy having Asha at home. When she was born my wife traveled for work over 60% of the time, so we have always been very close. Mocha is a Belgian Malinois that we got when the girls were young as a running partner for them. Even though Mocha is older, she still has to have a walk of around 1.5 miles , just to settle her down for the day. Normally that is my morning workout but I just woke up to late this morning.
