Just picked these up from the mail and had to give them a trial run . On the left is my new adopted friend the 'gunslinger' mahogany handled synthetic knot brush from JR and on the right is the 'slugger' model shick G won in a generous pif from Jim and Andrew. Thanks again gentlemen for your generosity. This was my 1st time using an injector style razor and i would have to say it was a "home-run" ! Was brave enough to try my head also and it came out smooth as a new baseball. The Colgate gave me that slick film that i like and the synthetic knot was soothing and lathered like a champ. Overall it was a shave well worth waiting for . This razor has a new lease on life and will be around for another century . View attachment 166450

Gillette Redtip Lord Platinum (1) Yaqi Slivertip B&M Latha Taiga Witchhazel William's Aqua Velva Evening Gentlemen, hope all is well. Tonight I decided to try a new blade in the heavy tonight, it didn't go so well. Got a couple of nicks, and good amount redness on my neck. Not sure if it was the blade, or the terrible lather I whipped up, probably both. Although, I've had terrible lathers, and gotten ok shaves with the Redtip and a Platinum Lux. Not sure if I will give the blade another shot, I'm leaning towards just pitching it, if it can't shave my neck without redness, it can't be in my rotation. Probably just try a new one tomorrow. Happy shaves everyone. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

MAYhem 2018!!!!! May 15 Razor - Gem Junior Blade - (2) Soap - Stirling Mountain Man Brush - Jayaruh #46 Post - Alum Just switching soap/brush tonight to the Stirling Mountain Man and JR46. Same Gem Junior with Treet blade. Seeing how I will handle this razor when I'm not feeling my best. My digestive system - read - Pancreas - decided to finally complain about the time in the woods. This too shall pass. I'm just dealing with a little extra pain and not quite 100% here. The lather was everything I have come to love about Stirling. Quick, easy and plentiful. All I did was wet my face, soak the synthetic knot about 10 seconds then load from the puck and face lather. Easy peazy. Two passes and all's well. Very smooth still, very noisy just like it should be and a near BBS was the result. This razor really does a great job. The look is so different from what I'm used to but it does the job of holding the blade where it needs to be to be effective. Bravo!
Since you were quick on the draw.... No higher philosophical dissertations shall be offfered at this time. I shall commence the evaluation and selection of an apropos musical piece, forthwith.
