I am sure after a trip through Peaches, vodka gets pretty high too. Her videos make me dizzy a year later.
The New razors are at the top of the list for me as well. I agree that the SC is a bit more aggressive/efficient, but I love shaving with either.
Nice looking setup there. I think one more shave with the JR you loaned me and I'll be hunting down one for myself. I'll give the Kampfe a few more shaves to see if it creates the urge as well.
That's why I told @jluc it was dark side time. Either pony up for old R41, hit the gateway drug, or jump in.
Random for you guys: For @Paul Turner , @PickledNorthern , and anyone else who likes open roads and endless sky.
Agreed. If you can wield the Fatip and its cousins without a problem you need to think shavettes/straights.
Reminds me of where I grew up. And why I moved to the woods. LOL Actually, my favorite open road views are mostly in North Dakota, just West of Bismarck/Mandan. The badlands in that area are awesome.
I am 25 minutes away from this. This photo was taken Sunday night at Red Rocks Park before a rock show. (Morrison, Colorado, USA lens at 6600ft above msl) Twenty miles past that and it's climbing the passes of 12,000" (~3700m) mountains, middle of the Front Range.
Anecdotal testimony? Fatip, NEW LC, FatBoy on 9, Futur clone 3 or+, Red Tip; Aggressive the whole batch of them. Get that technique trifecta right and they all become blade holders. Almost talking me into picking up an open blade.
Turn my back for two days and I am 140 posts behind! Was in the hospital for surgery on my leg. An incision on each side and a plate screwed in on both sides of my right tibia just under the knee. The ortho surgeon was pleased with how it went. Me, I haven't a clue about it yet. I am looking at 6 to 8 weeks on crutches before I can put weight on it and then physio. In the meantime, I haven't shaved since Friday morning and may not for awhile yet. Time for another scruffy and undistinguished grey and white beard... I will hang around and post but probably not about my own non-existent shaves.
That looks fantastic. Reminds me of why we need to move away from the cluttered bit of Surrey we live in.
Fatip Day #18 Normal service resumed and a DFS though dispensed with WTG as an experiment and did XTG x 2 (East/West then West East so to speak) followed by ATG/clean up. Worked well and after shave feel was good. On balance I am favouring the Astras t as I seem to get a smoother less fussy shave from them in this razor. The shave longevity through the day is the same for both blades and somehow the Astras just feel a tad smoother and less gritty. I'll see the Feather out to the weekend but return to the Astras for the rest of May. Also down to the last noggins of the Speick soap which should just about run to Saturday. This is good as I can go back to Arko and stick / face lather with no bowl so ready for hols in Madeira first week in June. Choice of razor for travel is either the 33C +Feather (Feathers totally rock in that one) or just take the Fatip. Dunno yet. Taking a hold bag so can leave a stash of blades at the house there and then not have to care about daft airline regs that imply I could take over a plane with a DE blade! Razor :Fatip OC Blade: Feather Brush /Soap /Balm as per normal.
