It is really a great looking brush. Enabling mode engaged. ATG is doing another Shavemac LE Group Buy this year. I have my fingers crossed hoping they offer an Ebonite handle with a 28mm or above knot.
DFS has an ivory Brad Sears group buy right now that looks really nice. I prefer not to have a DFS logo on my brush (not that there's anything wrong with that; I just prefer as little printing on a brush as possible), not to mention it's a bit pricey. Otherwise it's be tempting. Just throwing it out there in case someone's rich uncle just died and they're not sure what to do with the money...
Thank you Randy. I saw that one as well. I am holding out for the ATG LE brush from Shavemac. That will be a real temptation if offered with Ebonite handle and super large knot.
Thank you for all the well wishes and the prayers for my recovery, gentlemen! I appreciate it. I am also enjoying all the great reports and pics this morning. Andrew @Linuxguile, that really is a great looking brush. Clint @clint64, I liked the report on Soapy Science soap. So far, everyone who has tried it here has said positive things about it.
Check in at The Spring Raffle. There's a Hussy in the pile o' prizes. It's in my list of "if I win" picks. Photo and prize courtesy of John @@Screwtape!
MAYhem Over the Hump Proraso Green PSS Stirling Glastonbury SS 30 DC LE Cashmere brush Suribachi bowl & cool water Gillette Red Tip, Astra SP blade T.White's B&S AS lotion Didn't shake the water out of my synth knot so I got a very soused load. Started agitating and it went all fluffy. Loaded more soap, punched down the bubbles ala Barbasol prep method. Ended up with an inadvertent Super Goop! Applied preshave soap heavily in anticipation of a thin lather. The Stirling was just fine although wetter than my average batch. Gillette's blade holder did it's best and gave a smooth performance in concert with the Astra blade. Skipped the alum & went straight to the high alcohol/witch hazel + added ingredients elixer thanks to Tom @twhite. Error free and high DFS for the win! Good Shaves Y'all!
In a post a few days ago, someone suggested I keep my "former" WSP Pure Badger brush and donate it to a member here to "keep it in the (TSD) family". In an earlier post today I said that I had "tossed" it. Well that is partly true-I've "tossed" it from further use by me. I'll be glad to do a PIF, but the problem is, I can't SHOW it here, you'll have to see it for yourselves, and another issue is, I'll spend some time to decide how my PIF "game" will go. But the poster is right-it should be kept in the family. PIF details to come in the not too distant future.
