(With apologies to Lewis Carroll) The rabbit-hole went straight on like a tunnel for some way, and then dipped suddenly down, so suddenly that Neal had not a moment to think about stopping himself before he found himself falling down what seemed to be a very deep well, surrounded and filled with wondrous shiny objects and the sharpest of blades in the land.
MAYhem 2018!!!!! May 17 Razor - Kampfe Star Blade - (1) Soap - Stirling Ozark Mountain Brush - Stirling Two Banded Synthetic Post - Alum After three shaves with the Gem Junior that convinced me I probably need one. Notice - not WANT one but NEED one so it's all kosher and everything - I switched back to the Kampfe Star to give it three shaves. Put in a new Treet Super blade, chose the Stirling Ozark Mountain with the Stirling brush to make sure the lather was marvelous, and went to work. I sense that the Kampfe may be a bit more ready to bite than the Junior but it's still a great smooth shave. I don't quite feel the blade like I did with the Junior, but the result is equal and, as I say, it does at times feel like if the angle goes off much it could nip a bit. Two passes, a little touch up, DFS and a very nice one at that was the result. The alum was just a hair warm which makes me think it's a bit more aggressive than the Junior as well. Some of it could be just my learning curve with it as well. Whatever the case, it was a great shave and I'm looking forward to a couple more days with this one. Not scouring the bay yet for this one......but hey.....it's in the same rabbit hole as the Junior so there's always a chance.
May 2018 No Shave Edition But, it's Thursday. Or in the ROK, Funky Friday....It's @Keithmax Funk break...all you need is two arms and some attitude! Other than that...all is quiet in Colorado. Have a great Friday!
Edwin Jagger DE89 Gillette Rubie Platinum (1) Fendrihan Synthetic LEA Shaving Cream William's Aqua Velva Evening Gentlemen, some things just go together, like the elements in tonight's shave an Edwin Jagger, a Russian blade, and LEA shave cream. Got a nice, comfortable BBS shave. I took this LEA shave cream with me on vacation and just feel in love with it. It has a nice with menthol kick in, and creates a nice, slick lather. Happy Friday everyone. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Why, the land of the Cartel of course. No finer land exists. Russian Steel, Russian Vodka, Russian women. Well, ok, so maybe there's a bit of a flaw.
Your back in the Will. I drive an Expedition because I want a chance when one of these retarded drivers down here smack into me. Sheesh drivers are nuts here. Viva La Revolution!
A little Tabac and badger for Thursday. Since others are enjoying their LC shaves I went for a favorite. 1913ish Ever Ready with a Treet blade. BULLY!!! Finished up with Clubman Musk.
Fatip: Day uhm lost count but think its #18 Brush : Rocky Mountain Blade: Feather (last shave with the Feather, back to Astras from tomorrow as they are just better in this razor) Soap: Arko Balm: Speick Splash: Speick The shave was a very good one though slight rash on neck and I'm putting this down to the Feather as never had this with the Astras. Speick soap has finished so back to Astra again. Speick balm and splash are great every day use. They both smell pleasant, (might just be me but they make me think of the spring-time alpine meadows of me youth) and leave my chops feeling good. I am however thinking of a venture into Proraso Green territory to see how that fairs as a post shave , dunno yet. Failing that, anyone got a good shout for a real summery super citrussy post shave balm?
Lucky Tiger Premium After Shave and Face Tonic is a pleasant post shave balm that smells strongly of oranges.
May 18, 2018 Wolfman WR Ti .74 OC with Triad Ti Aristocrat Feather Simpson CH2 Synthetic AOS Peppermint Cream Happy Friday. I am happy that the weekend is approaching. Everything just works so well together. The CH2 is my favorite synthetic brush and the most badger like I have tried. The AOS Peppermint produces a wonderful slick lather with a very nice cooling effect. Sad to see it go but @Drygulch AOS Peppermint Cream is dead and gone. I had PIFed half of it and half of Ocean Kelp to Wade when he gave me a full container of OneBlade Lavender Cream. Three passes and touch ups left me with a near perfect shave. A splash of Fine Lavender and I think I am ready for the day. I hope everyone has a Fantastic Friday.
