Had a great shave today using cold water! Go figure! Never would have tried the cold water approach before I heard about it here but it works great! Used my typical Stirling Soap with the pro synth brush and my trusty ERN Gong Razor 6/8 roundnose. pre shave soap, leave it on and lather up the shave soap, Barbershop scent build the lather on my face with cold water addition. Finish up with the stirling post shave balm in Barbershop ready to take on the world or the DMV which was the case this morning
Since the Preakness is this Saturday, and I live in Maryland, I decided to use this razor the rest of the week. Haha, I almost forgot about this razor, I haven’t used it in a while. Just got finished shaving and it’s edge needs a little touch up. Still had a fine shave though. Wm Elliot & Co. Boar brush Arko, in a handmade soap container. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

After advice from the honing geniuses on this forum I've carried out some more work on my Dovo Master's and now it shaves very nicely. This was my second good shave with it.
Love those scales. good photo too, nice touch being able to see the water on the glass though the scales.
Newly-acquired (thank you, Sharptoothc), a vintage "Böker's Grand" round-point from Heinrich Böker & Co. with a Stirling-themed shave 'Orange Chill' tallow soap, 26mm 'Kong' synthetic brush, and 'Executive Man' aftershave balm. Have a great day, gents!
Shave #47 on the Cape today. This was the count on my Favorit when I had it re-scaled, so from here on it's uncharted territory, but the smoothness of the edge seems stable, so I think that it isn't near the end of its shaving life. Cream was Christian Dior Eau Sauvage and the ASB is also Dior Eau Sauvage. Cheers, Steve
Today's shave was with a newly acquired, restored, and honed razor. I had a fantastic 2 pass shave, that left me BBS, without touch-ups. This razor has a very nice feel to it, and everything about it was spot on, construction wise. Razor- F.W.Engels. "Special" Brush- JR #262. Ebony/Birdseye Maple w/Whipped Dog Silvertip Knot. Soap- Arko/Avon Spicy scented Aftershave- Shulton Old Spice(The Good Stuff)..

King Pelican 27 6/8 that refreshed last night. The soap was a sample of Santa Mariah Novella that a friend kindly sent me, lathered up with a Keyhole 4 and topped with Lucky Tiger. Shave was superb. I've always been hesitant to buy a tub of SMN because I'm not a menthol person, but it isn't a deal breaker in this case. Post shave is simply wonderful and the in-shave performance with a straight is top tier. Maybe I try a tub? Cheers, Steve
