  3. Maybe a little more blade feel. The New is my favorite Gillette razor and is a great blend of smoothness and efficiency.
  4. Wow. That is a wicked looking razor. I hope you enjoyed the holiday.
  5. Great photo Ken. How do you like the Speick balm and aftershave?
  6. They work well. The balm doesn't quite match Nivea for moisture but has a lovely woody scent to it and layer the after shave over and its a very pleasant experience with skin feeling spot on afterwards. It puts me in mind of alpine meadows in late spring / early summer when I was a kid in Switzerland somehow so always makes me feel good. Another plus is the balm is a great match for Eau Sauvage after wards and compliments that scent. Her in the UK each item is roughly £11 -£12 on Amazon. I do go to Germany on business from time to time so will see if I can pick any up over there. Out of 5 start I'd give them a healthy 4.

  10. Thanks, Jared! I would agree. The angle is harder to find. It's really reminding me of the PAL Adjustable more and more.

Prep: Cold water and Stirling mentholated pre-shave soap
    Blade: Personna
Razor: Supply injector - classic two dot plate
    Brush: Artisan badger
Soap: Jeeves of Hudson Street Bay Rum
Post: Witch hazel, Jeeves of Hudson Street Tobacco Bay Leaf aftershave

Better angle today with the Supply. I slowed way down and took my time. Did some shorter strokes as well instead of the longer pulls I normally do with injectors. Good results. Right under my jaw line and the point of my chin is still a little stubbly, so those areas need some more work. This is a neat razor that demands your attention. I need some more work with it to make a more informed opinion.

Today is graduation for our seniors. We rent the basketball arena at a local university, so the ceremony is at 2:00pm. Strange time, but we're at the mercy of the facilities. 285 kids taking the next step in life. It's always a neat thing to witness.

    Enjoy your day!

I really like the Reef Point Tranquility scent profile. It has a base of lavender with a huge hit of peppermint up front. The peppermint provides a wonderful cooling sensation. In fact it has more cooling and peppermint than the AOS Peppermint Cream. The WDC-6 with the Omega boar knot is a beast of a brush. Made of solid brass it is heavy and the knot has tons of backbone. The brush made short work of whipping up a wonderful slick lather. Three passes and touch ups along my jawline and neck ended in a rare BBS. I did get two weepers due to operator error. A splash of Fine Lavender and I am ready for the day. I hope everyone has a great Tuesday.

  14. I am probably one of the most impatient people in the world. Most of all I am impatient with myself. Although I have made great progress from the beginning of my straight razor journey, the fact that I cannot get the stubble on my neck without a DE follow up is driving me nuts. I'm actually creating some irritation because after an inadequate third pass, I go back and try again from different angles to see what works. So far, nothing. And, yes, I am skin stretching. If anyone has a technique that has worked for them, I'm up for suggestions at this point.

  18. With all those pics, time to make a photo of my kit. This is all I use to shave, no creams, aftershave,... (can't stand that stuff) The brush is of the same brand as the soap. (and in use for over 2 years)

  19. 1. Yes John, you are correct. French donkey milk soap with a little black pepper scent. It's really good stuff!

    2. The new Proraso Single Blade soap is outstanding. Great slickness, cushion, and post shave feel at an excellent price. The combination of Cypress and Vetiver scents is outstanding. ALSO really good stuff!

Fantastic photo Jim! The Dorco's were decent enough for me. Not top tier, but good.
Very nice pic for being rushed, Ken!
Nice shot Perry! Have a good time at graduation!
    Excellent photo, Clint!
I often ponder going minimalist, but then I see all of the products that I love! I have heard good things about that soap, nice setup for sure!
