Had a '72 Cougar at the end of high school. 351 Cleveland, 4 barrel. The 'red sled'. Took my paycheques right to the gas station! PAA seems to have some cool retro-style handles. That one is a winner as well, Jim! Arko v Palmolive. Favourite? That is a really cool picture of some awesome vintage gear, Rick. One of your best!
There is no appreciable difference in performance or results between the two. Honestly, I like them both equally well. La Toja and Boots generic goes here too.
Thank you Jason! I've seen you wielding a NEW LC recently and felt the urge. Think I'll stick with it for the life of the blade. One day that brush will be "vintage" gear, but it's already one of my best! I had a '72 Mustang with that motor. If it had a manual tranny, the Ex wouldn't have driven it and I might still have it. She didn't understand Type F is for Fords.
The neck was the toughest are for me to figure out. What direction is ATG on your neck? To show shave ATG I have to go from my ear towards my Adam’s apple.
ATG on the neck varies on the neck a bit, but is mostly E-W and W-E from ear to center on each side. It can be tough with a DE. Much tougher with a straight.

So I've had two shaves (one last Thursday, one last night) but I cheated. I used my Schick E3. Thursday because I was running short on time and last night because I forgot to load a blade into the shavette. So since I wasn't using the shavette, I switched my soaps. Thursday was TSD's own Energy shaving soap (lanolin formula) and last night was the ever delightful TSD Monkey Farts shaving cream. So delicious. Both shaves were outstanding. The alum was 99.326% silent last night, and then a splash of TSD Energy after shave milk to round things out. I should be back to the shavette next shave. But when will that be?
First I am a 4 pass shaver for all razor types. I find it makes the final ATG pass easier. To go ear to Adam's apple: Prepare some alum to get a good grip. You will need to use both hands. Make sure your cheeks are dry. I recommend practising with an empty shavette first. To shave your right side you hold the razor in your right with an inverted grip, holding the razor with your wrist folded. With your left hand reach over your head and with your alum applied finger pull your cheek taught, tilt your head to make the neck area flat and then shave. To shave the left side, do the opposite of the right. I hope this helps. Give it time, you will figure it out.
Thanks amigo! LC has an awesome scent, easy lathering, slick with good cushioning and a great post shave feel. What's not to like?
Wednesday Shave I can see the ring of death starting to form on this soap. I do enjoy this Joris, it looks cool, it is aggressive and I like the way it shaves. Missed a spot or it would have been an epic shave. Thank you Clint. I've given the razor over to patina. Might get it nickel plated one day. For now it's just going to look like nature intended. Tapatalk Via Kyocera
I ran into several Proraso products I have yet to try at a local discounter today at very fair prices. And I bought none of them. And had no (ok, very few, and they went away qui...ok, after a while) regrets. My No-Buy has set and passed the test. Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
