  7. Well being MAYhem and all, it only took slight prodding from @RyX for me to pull out and try a shavette for the first time. Come to think of it, he actually sent me the shavette last year, showing he plays the long game when it comes to enabling and/or goading people to cut themselves. (Shavey nomination forthcoming.) Anyhoo, the shavette was similar to the straight razor, just a bit keener blade, so a couple of nicks ensued. With better technique (I'm not counting, but I figure I'm 40+ shaves in to my straight razor journey) those should disappear. Having said that, I think the CJB has been patiently waiting to have a go at me for almost a year now, so I may give it a run before the month is over.
  8. SOTD May 24, 2018

    Prep: Cold water and Stirling mentholated pre-shave soap
    Blade: Personna
    Razor: Supply injector - two dot plate
    Brush: JR #41 badger
    Soap: Jeeves of Hudson Street Bay Rum
    Post: Witch hazel, Epsilon Blue Mediterranean aftershave

    Much better results today. Paid close attention to the angle and used short strokes. Quite effective at that pace. Took longer than a normal morning shave, but that's okay in the long run. I'd rather have a better shave that takes longer than a sub-par shave any day. A poor shave just ruins the start of a day.

    The Jeeves is hanging in there. Will keep using it until it's done. What a great soap. Tomorrow will be a run with The Fat.

    @clint64 - Congratulations on Maya's graduation! I know you're a proud papa.

    Have a great day everyone!
