I'm observing Towel Day early because it otherwise conflicts with Movie Night. Regardless, I hardly need an excuse to use 42.

  4. It was time for me to take the Gem junior 1901 out for a spin today. It certainly was an enjoyable shave and this razor can hang with the best of them!

    Thursday's Bunnyvette Shave
    zcws.gif

    Proraso Pre Shave
    Proraso Sandalwood
    Jayaruh #289
    Bunny V3 (no comb)
    Personna SE
    CWS
    Thayer's Peach WH
    Barbasol AS

I started off with Proraso Pre Shave. The Proraso Sandalwood Shaving Soap face-lathered well with the Jayaruh #289 brush. I did two passes with the Bunny V3 Razor with a Personna SE blade. I did it without a comb, so it was a Bunnyvette shave. I ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayer's Peach WH and then Barbasol AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

The scent that started it all...
This was my first artisan scent and I still love it because it reminds me of the time in my late teens when I ran away to this magical flooded city in Italy. I was alone and desperate for shelter, so I huddled down by night in a strange boat that was low in the middle and high on both ends. I was startled awake that first morning when an older couple got in the boat and motioned for me to get it moving (I don't speak Italian). Not knowing what to do, I noticed a long pole near one end, which I grasped after unmooring the craft. I leaned on the pole to push the boat along, delighting the couple and earning a nice tip in the end.

  11. 05/22/2018 Tuesday Night Shave - PAA Meta Nector with some Rabid Banana mixed in....
Supply Chrome - with the aggressive plate and a fresh proline - awesome combo - been a while since i used the the supply and it took a second shave to get the hang of the different angle than the average vintage injector.

  17. 05/23/2018 - Wednesday Night Shave..
I really love the Stirling Glacial Black Cherry soap - I got this last year and its a Frozen Cherry Popsicle! Just great, not sure if there was a matching after shave last year? but I saw it offered last week and they are using clear bottles now - Really cool looking! So I ordered it and of course requested the Glacial aftershave (I always do when offered), gotta say it is amazing - just like the soap. I have been using the PAA rabid banana pre shave soap CUBE for 3 days and wow is this a slick and amazing product - very strong banana scent and so is there Star Jelly (this is a new balm he is offering with menthol added - it is becoming my best balms, it has alcohol and the menthol - just so soothing and not greasy at all) - Cherry and Bananas! now that is one great combination. I forget the model no. for this PEARL OC - 3 piece - but its aggressive - I tried these brasilian Gillette blades for the first time - and the jury is out? not sure if there rough? or was it poor technique on a Razor I barely use - still a good shave and any irritation is healed in the morning - advantage on night shaving....
    peace - JAMIE

  18. It’s good but I’ve decided I probably won’t get it again. To be clear, you wouldn’t go wrong in getting it. I just find it’s a little too soft - closer to a cream - than I like. As a result, bits of the soap sometimes break off and come up with the brush in small pieces even though I do not mash the brush into it. The softer consistency also means I am going through it much faster than my Mike’s Natural Soaps Hungarian Lavender.

So, higher price, soft and doesn’t last as long, nice aroma and wonderful lather would be my summary. :chores016:

Coate's Almond, Omega S10065, RazoRock German 37 Slant, Personna Red (5), HBG Vermont

Finally got around to trying the Almond from my 5 flavor Coate's buy last month. All the others (sandalwood, lime, rose and tea tree still had some scent left. Not so with the almond. Plenty of rich thick lather but no scent at all. Hey, 4 out of 5 ain't bad!
