I hope the day will come when I can accomplish both. When it comes to the "fancy stuff" regarding computers/phones, etc...I'm afraid my learning curve isn't up to par.
Saturday SOTD May 26, 2018 Colonial Razors 'The General' with UFO Colibri SS Feather Pro Super El Druida D7 Manchurian CRSW Lavish Soap and Aftershave ADP Blu Mediterraneo Cedro Di Taormina
The Tea Tree is quite medicinal. In a Wooley Swamp, old crone packed your broken ankle with a poultice made of swamp mud and boiled buckthorn bark.
Thank you, Jim! Andrew, you may be right! I had a PAL Adjustable and sold it because the shaves weren't good. That may have been premature. Thank you, Clint! Awesome soap conglomeration, Andrew! But of course, Logan is the star of TGIF! Thank you, Jim!
So tonight was shave 25(?) of the March shavette challenge. Loaded my second to last blade, so almost there. Went well, my lather wasn't as slick as necessary (tried face lathering) so I ended up switching to my E3. However, tonight for dinner I did go to Texas de Brazil... and well if you haven't been you need to.
FYI for anyone interested: The white mug with the barbershop looking scene is smaller that the green “rubber” mug, and is made out of a hard plastic. Not even close to the same.
-Feather DX -Rudy Vey Jade Chubby -Stirling Glacial Lemony Orange Soap -Stirling Glacial Lemony Orange AS It has just been a zoo at work this week. Been 90’s here, with 95%+ humidity, which is Hellish hot for Minnesotans. And the AC crapped out in my work pickup this week. It’s not a big deal if you can run with the windows down, but it’s hard to talk on the phone, or keep blueprints open, etc..... Been going 14-16 hours a day, so no time to get it in. The Stirling Glacial Shave was exactly what I needed when I got home tonight.
May 25th Gillette NEW LC w Nacet (1) Stirling Bay Rum SS 30 DC LE Alum Jeeves Tobacco & Bay AS Shaved early this morning. Had a half day at work and then drove a few hours to coach at a kids lacrosse tournament. Excellent shave - pulled the NEW after seeing lots of others photo’d and transferred the Bay Rum to this bowl after the Baker St was finished. Long way to go on this soap. Finished with the excellent Jeeves splash. The game didn’t go as well. Hotel shaves tomorrow, and have a great weekend, all!
MAYhem 2018!!!!! May 25 - It's a Marvy kind of day! Razor - Rapira el Cheapo Blade - (2) Soap - Marvy Brush - Marvy Post - Alum, Styptic Well, upon lathering the Marvy again I was about to claim that witchcraft was involved. The initial load of the brush and lather on the face produced a decent lather. Peaky, not as thick or cushy as a Stirling or something along that lines, but better than I could hope for. The slickness was, well, average, which seems to be the best Marvy can do. I chose the Rapira setup again to give the soap a challenge. Definitely not the smoothest razor even with a Rapira blade in it. First WTG pass seemed to go well. Nice effectiveness. A bit on the rough side but nothing outrageous. The lather even lasted until the end of the pass! Wow! There's that potential for witchcraft being involved again. Second lather wasn't quite as nice and the XTG pass was even less nice. Finished that pass and some touch ups and still had a bit of lather left for the whole thing. The slickness in the face of the el cheapo razor showed its weakness, however, with 5 visible nicks. I cleaned up, grabbed the alum and found my entire face/neck very warm with the 5 nicks firing off and another 4 spots hitting me hard too. No blood on those but obviously close. Yeah, Marvy, you may have looked better but you didn't provide the necessary slickness for that under achieving razor. The scent has partially returned as I've lathered the puck a couple of times now. I described it as "moldy" last night. I can't do much better than that other than to say "chemical smell". Not harsh, but it's a scent I remember well and still dislike a whole lot. We may retire the Marvy soap and brush back to storage for another MAYhem. It was fun to play with again though. Hope your weekend is off to a fantastic start!
