I had this Manufrance Étoile in a box, awaiting restoration since ... a lot of weeks. I did the work on monday, and made a try yesterday. Shave-ready ? Definitely yes. Smooth ? Not yet, will recieve more leather.
Today's shave was with a Frency Faux Frameback. I had a very smooth 2 pass shave, that left me BBS. Zero issues. Very well made, and noisy razor. Razor- French Faux Frameback. "Leon Pelleray". A Paris. Camel bone scales. Brush- JR#262. Ebony/Birdseye Maple Wood. WD Silvertip Knot. Soap- Arko/Avon Spicy scented Aftershave- Vintage Avon Spicy
Boy you have a holiday and miss out on a lot of good lookin' razors! Update on the Cape, at shave #53 it still shaves fine but seems to be losing some smoothness during the shave. Will have to see if that can be restored to the edge sans honing... Yesterday I was feeling very French, so my Grelot Lotus and Dior lamded the job. Superb razor, like most Le Grelots. This morning, it was AdP lathered with a 3-band HMW and a King Pelican 14 did the job. A little Lucky Tiger AS then some AdP face cream finished off a fine shave. Cheers, Steve
I haven’t used this Kamisori more than a few times and I’m still learning it. First pass reduction was sub-par, second a little better but with some extended touch ups I ended up with a better than decent shave. Tonight’s shave I had a nice 2 pass shave with a little touch up. I got BBS, and was rewarded with a nice little poke in my cheek. I must be more mindful, of that dang point. Haha Gold dollar W59 Synthetic brush C O Bigelow shaving cream Aqua Velva AS Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Iwasaki I've had trouble with the spike formed while making it a shorty. I used a DMT 325 to mute the spike edge but still was having trouble. Last night I muted the flat sides on either side of the spike edge and got relief. I think the spike edge got twisted a bit.
Shell Silver Steel, cream was RazoRock Santa Maria del Fiore lathered with a Simpsons 57 and finished of with Lucky Tiger and a spritz of the RR SMdF fragrance. Cheers, Steve
Today's shave was with an Old favorite of mine. It is one of my first Straight Razors, that I successfully honed. I had an uncomfortable 2 pass shave, which is very very odd. It left me with a DFS, but 2 good bleeders. This is very unusual. The aftershave even stung, a lot. After the shave, I inspected the edge, and it looks like it had been raked across something hard, in the middle, about an inch worth of blade. Very odd, because I am meticulous about the edges. The only thing I can think happened is that one of the kids, or wife decided to handle it. It had been the most accessible on the dresser, for a while. Oh well, back to the stones for this one. If you look at the photo, you can even see the.damaged edge. Razor- Japanese "Cherry 92". Brush- Stirling Boar Soap- Arko/Avon Spicy Aftershave- Osage Rub
Three kids and a wife, nobody spoke up. I won't even ask, unless another turns up damaged. I guess I'll look and see who is sporting a bandaid on a finger.
I hide mine, I have two out, the rest hidden because my 22 year old has parties when I am gone. That is the big reason I use one razor per two days. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
