Wow, that is some impressive surgical work. Your going to give some TSA or courthouse security fits, with your bionic leg.

:signs011: My last hair cut was shortest ever. Maybe 1/4" fading to 1/8" at the edges. Being long passed wondering if I'm loosing hair - it's an accepted fact. I'm close to going full on shaved, but still holding out. With it so short a sprinkle rubbed into my scalp goes straight to the skin. Not an overwhelming menthol effect, but the tingle and cool is felt.

Invigorating? Yup. Miracle hair regrowth tonic? I'll let you know.

I think I have stumbled upon my holy grail razor...

... The wife's grandad has given me a Gillette Tech - Aluminium handle (Made in England). The smoothest, most comfortable shave I have had since I started on my journey. I used an Astra SP blade and my usual Palmolive mashed in a mug! Unbelievable shave with zero irritation... It felt like shaving with a butter knife, but all the stubble ended up gone!

Going to try and do a catch up post. My last shave posted was the attempt to shave with a pocket knife, that didn’t turn out so well. My new job has been keeping me busy enough that I am constantly falling behind on this thread, and then it is really hard to catch up. I have had 56 posts so far in it this month, so I’m not avoiding participation all together. I have had five shaves since my last post, and only one of them was a MAYhem shave. Here is the recap:
    381FDAED-39B3-4F93-A5EF-3B4CA33E2E20.jpeg
Razor: Shavey Kamisori from @Keithmax (For menthol abuse)
    Strop: Drygulch Horsehide and Linen
Soap: Dr. Jon’s Flowers in the Dark
Brush: 30DC LE with Omega Pro Boar
Post: Cold Water Rinse, Alum, Thayer’s Witch Hazel (Rose)
Aftershave: Dr. Jon’s Flowers in the Dark

First off, if you like lavender scents, get this set. He just re-released it for the year. I’m considering getting the EDT, I like the scent so much. This kamisori was a gift from Keith, for most inappropriate use of menthol, after I accidentally mentholated my new tattoo, (and also referring to the Snowballs incident.) Keith wasn’t sure if it was shave ready, so I took it to a pasted strop, and it seemed to be OK. I did two passes, and it wasn’t quite sharp enough, so I cleaned up with a DE. It’s going to a pro for honing. Enjoyed the scent of the aftershave for several hours.

    Razor: Brian Brown 8/8
    Strop: Drygulch Horsehide and Linen
Soap: Barrister & Mann 42 (Glissant base)
Brush: 30DC LE with Omega Pro Boar
Post: Cold Water Rinse, Alum, Thayer’s Witch Hazel (Rose)
    Aftershave: Barrister & Mann 42

First shave with a straight razor in a while. Good stuff. Three passes and smooth. The 42 soap is my target for using up right now. Good scent, awesome theme, but not so much that I will buy it again.

    Razor: Cooper Monobuilt
Blade: Vintage Wilkinson and Sword (England)
    Soap: La Toja Stick
    Brush: Omega travel Boar
Post: Cold Water Rinse, Alum, Thayer’s Witch Hazel (Rose)
Aftershave: The Shave Den Yin Yang (Lime and Lavender)

I went on a mini vacation with my wife last week to her 15 year college reunion at a small liberal arts college in Gambier, Ohio. It was the first time we have both been away from the kids since they were born. It was great and not great at the same time. I had one day I had to shave for a dress up dinner, and used the Monobuilt. I forget how aggressive and awesome this razor is. The La Toja stick and travel boar give a great and easy lather for a nice shave. I went for a DFS, and didn’t worry about perfection, since we were staying in a 100 year old college dorm with no AC. We had a great trip, but it was nice to get home.

Razor: Drygulch Special Painstick made from part of an energy drink can
    Blade: Chick Injector
Soap: Barrister & Mann 42 (Glissant base)
Brush: 30DC LE with Omega Pro Boar
Post: Cold Water Rinse, Alum, Thayer’s Witch Hazel (Rose)
    Aftershave: Barrister & Mann 42

Here is my last Mayhem shave for the month. Using my homemade painstick, I wanted to see how it did with an injector blade instead of an AC style blade. The answer was pretty good. Not quite as easy to use as the AC blade, but still quick and effective whisker reduction. I was working on 4 days growth, so there was a lot to mow down. I do find it funny that I can get an easier shave with my homemade painstick than my CJB, because I can get a shallower angle. It also takes two types of blades, which is nice.

Razor: Geo. W. Korn American Double Hollow 5/8
    Strop: Drygulch Horsehide and Linen
Soap: Jeeves of Hudson Street Fougre
Brush: 30DC LE with Omega Pro Boar
Post: Cold Water Rinse, Alum, Thayer’s Witch Hazel (Rose)
    Aftershave: Fine Lavendar Pour Homme

For the last shave of May, I went with a nice simple straight that doesn’t get enough use. Three passes, enjoyed the soap and aftershave. DFS level shave, and I’m happy with that. Today is the last day of operations for my contract, so is kind of bittersweet. Saying good bye to a lot of coworkers who have done a great job. Some were able to find jobs to move right into, and others will be coming back in a month or two on different assignments. I am proud to say that everyone who wanted to stay with the company did find a job.

For my wrap up for the month, I think I would say that it really is just a blade holder. With the exception of the pocket knife that I couldn’t quite line up the angle on, all my shaves are pretty good now. I have been very busy with work and home, (my oldest started little league,) so haven’t had as much time for extra stuff like the forum. I hope to be more active next month, but we will see. Who’s ready for Cinco de Julio?

Love the Aristocrats. My '46-'47 is one of my favorite. I used it during the very first 30DC in January 2015. I learned how to shave with it along with Proraso, the Omega Pro 48 and Voskhod. Everyone should own one.
