  1. That’s a Tech on the left, correct? If so, you might want to give it a go with the Dollar Store Dorco blades.

  3. Wow. It’s a day before this thread officially starts and I’m already behind! As always, I am in for the month. Trying to reduce the excessive soap inventory will be part of the fun. I do have a Rex Ambassador and a Karve Inbound (which are completely the fault of @Linuxguile and his enabling powers) but will also try to move the ball forward on my mission of mastering the straight. Soap reviews and miscellaneous shenanigans may also occur.

  7. Oh yeah I forgot to mention almost halfway through the year haven't made a shaving related purchase yet. Sadly haven't killed of a single soap yet either so it might be another year before I buy again.

  8. Greetings to our newcomers on this little thread! You're in the right spot. We like to have fun, and you are surrounded by experts who will fight each other to help you. Welcome, and I hope you find a "home" here with us!

Hello to all the regulars! Pass the Osage and let's get it on! Let's have some fun and not get nuts with it. ;)

Nothing but drug store level products for me. That includes generic Personna from a grocery. I will keep the focus on point with the AS. Nothing but drug store....and for those of you who got in on it...remember, Boots UK is a drug chain, akin to Walgreens here in the USofA. Looking forward to all of the Barbasol I can stand as well. Kidding, I love Barbasol.

    Have a great June!
  9. I'm in for the Just Shave June. Going to continue to focus on different set ups, finding my preferred hardware and software, may be experiment with some new stuff.

  10. I'm thinking about a solid month of some drugstore Nivea shave cream and some Aqua Velva blue or musk . Except on Wednesdays....thats William's day for me. Just picked up 3 pucks for 6 bucks . What a bargain!

  11. I'm on hols for a week from tomorrow so internet time is off the menu. Travel razor for that week will be the Fatip, and Astra blade, cheap synthetic brush and an Arko stick for soap. Speick balm and Eau Sauvage for afters as it will be holiday time. I'll think about a focus when I get back. Shave this am has been a good one, not perfect but good. Annoyingly work is v busy so yes I'm in, no I don't know what I'll do post holiday and have a great day folks.

Wolfman SS WR1 OC .61 Blade Gap
    Feather
    Shavemac D01 3 Band
    SV Felce Aromatica
    Myrsol Agua Balsamica

SV Felce Aromatica was my other shaving soap addition. In addition to wanting to try SV soaps, I am a sucker for fougere type scents and I just couldn't help myself. Felce Aromatica is a complex fougere scent of herbs and citrus over a woody vetiver base. The scent changed with different notes as I face lathering. This might be the best fougere scent I have experienced. I have really hit on the winning combination for my two pass shaves using either Wolfman. Starting ATG ( S to N) followed by XTG ( ear to centerline) provides maximum reduction. Touch ups along my jawline and lower right neck ended in an epic BBS shave. A splash of Agua Balsamica and I am ready for the day. I hope everyone has a great Friday.
  14. Oh and in the spirit of 'Just the basics'... My focus will be:

    Razor: Gillette Tech
    Blade: Astra SP
    Brush: Bluebeard Doubloon
Soap: Palmolive stick (mashed in mug)
    Aftershave: Nivea Sensitive

I do wonder if I have got in me to use the same setup for an entire year!
  15. Beautiful picture, Clint!

    June 1 SOTD:

    Razor: Karve Christopher Bradley
    Blade: Gillette Platinum
    Brush: Simpsons CH-2
    Lather: Stirling Electric Sheep
Aftershave: Chatillon Lux Gratiot League Square
    Additional Care:
    Osage Rub
    Stirling Unscented PSB

First shave of June looks a lot like the last shave of May. Another excellent shave with this razor as I did two passes and got a near BBS. I used a favorite AS to wrap up, so this Friday and month are off to a great start. I hope everyone has a great day!

  18. Another beautiful photo Jim. Is your razor developing a patina?

  19. Thank you, Clint! Not yet. I'll be curious to see how this finish does with a patina. Since it is a brushed finish, it may not show the patina quite as quickly.

  20. I plan on letting mine patina naturally as well. I saw picture on Instagram of one with a natural patina that was gorgeous.
