  4. Thank you Andrew. The party went really well. I am exhausted and intoxicated. I just need to make sure there are no shave related purchases tonight.
  5. Clint, I think in my case it was the trifecta of odors. I'll give it another go tomorrow with a non-stinky brush. Admittedly, the Omega Boar has lost about 75% of its original stench...until you get it wet that is. ;)
  6. I am following your focus closely. Lavender is one of my favorite scents.
  7. If you just gotta buy awesome shave stuff you can send it all to my address so your wife doesn’t know. I’ll take good care of everything.
  8. I am too tired to shop tonight.

  9. I'll forgive you. I'm in brush rotation mode too.
  10. First one I've ever seen. It's a great shave if you can get ahold of one.

  11. Appreciate that lol. I'm not buying anything this year and I PIFd my drug store brushes last year.

  13. Just the Basics June/Just for Fun June - take your pick

    June 2

Razor - Van Der Hagen TTO
    Blade - Generic Personna - Walgreen's version
Soap - Van Der Hagen Scented Luxury
    Brush - VDH Boar
Post - Alum, Aqua Velva Ice Blue (Sunday Morning)

Day two with the basic VDH setup, including the actual VDH boar brush. Point of order - the Scented Luxury soap actually comes with the badger brush and the apothecary style bowl in a different kit. The Deluxe soap comes in the Premier kit with the green bowl and boar brush. I just received a Premier kit today to get the Deluxe soap for the month and add another bowl to my den. My BDH boar is now 4 years old too, so a refresh didn't seem like a bad thing to have.

As far as the Luxury soap - I'm not a fan. Yet, anyway. Seems like it's tough to get loaded. I'm not sure if I'm using too much water or not enough, but it's different from the Deluxe which I've used before. I'm going to get it figure out, one way or another. It is slick enough to do the job, if a bit short on cushion, and with the very mild VDH razor and generic Personna I had an ok shave. Finished DFS. Not perfect, but far from horrible. That's the beauty of the cheap stuff. It works just fine. Just don't expect perfection.

  14. June Top Shelf Basics!

    Barbasol Arctic Chill
    Fat Boy & a Feather
    Barbasol Pacific Rush
My-Swag-Is-Too-Loud.jpg No photo. But it was a great shave! Put in a couple hours on a jobsite, then packed up my Sunday go to meeting clothes and a shave kit. Got to my folks house in time for a shower & shave. I free handed the unadulterated shave cream, took a pass. Another shot of menthol goodness from the can, another pass. Had too much lather from the third shot but you can't put it back, third pass & clean up. A splash of more mentholy B brand product for a great finish. Got dressed and rode with the folks to church where after the service, they had their 58th anniversary blessed. Then we had supper at the Panda Buffet.
    Good Shaves Y'all!

  15. Getting with the theme.

This one is for Fuzzy @wchnu , I used Williams but I hope you will forgive me, I molested it. This 'generic' Jwest I picked up for $30 and liked it so much I had @gssixgun rescale it. Rounding out 'just the basics' is an Omega boar and Jōvan Sex Appeal. An epic shave and some heavy sprays of Sex Appeal I will need to be careful walking around the neighborhood today ;)

    Irritation A+ Closeness A+ Smoothness A Sharpness A

Razor: J West 5/8 half hollow
    Strop: Mastro Livi
    Brush: Omega boar
    Pre: Proraso
    Soap: Williams (molested)
AS: Enhanced Florida Water AS, Edwin Jagger ASB
Scent: Jōvan Sex Appeal for Men

  17. So.... I messed around and accidentally removed and installed 170 3" cedar pickets on a wind damaged fence line. This started at 2pm. By hand....and several thousand hammer strikes and taps later, and a massive bonfire bonus..I think I will be doing quick soapy shower, IR Sauna, shower, salt bath and hydration. Not hurting per se, but quite stiff and tired. Will try for the two day grail with Batbasol.

Now that hammering has stopped... All quiet in Colorado.

    Have a Superb Sunday!
    ;)
  18. That post makes me very happy.
  19. One could use the terms; neat and thinned.
  20. That is a great day Rick. Congrats to your parents on their 58th Anniversary.
