First Full Shave with Jayaruh Woody SE Razor

This was my first full shave with the Jayaruh Woody SE OC razor. It was a total success.

I started off with Proraso Pre Shave. The CTAPT Shaving Cream face-lathered well with the Jayaruh #288 Synthetic brush. I did two passes with the Jayaruh Wooden SE OC Razor with a CVS Carbon Steel SE blade and ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayer's Peach WH and then English Leather AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

Well, if there is any interest in a pass around, please let me know. I just made a box for the Woody that would travel well.

Well, whoever wants to be first can start a list and others can follow.
So, @richgem, are you going to start the list?

Bro, you got the will and the way! Very nice.

    Cool presentation as well.
If people can sell rubber band revolvers, i can't see where the woody wouldn't sell, great novelty item.

Um... OK. I think you already have my address. Unless there's someone who lives closer to you who wants to start.
Just make sure the paperwork is in order this time. There was a big hold up with the North Cackalaky export / Czardom import last time. But, I've also fired the polar bear customs agents.

Jim, you should probably set up some ground rules too. Such as how long we can keep it and a disclaimer about how one can't really sterilize wood, don't leave a blade in (on?) it, etc.

OK. Richgem is going to be first. If there are any others thinking about joining, please read the following.

Maybe a pass around is not a good idea, but anyone who wants to give it a go must realize that I accept no responsibility for your bad judgement and you enter into the pass around at your own risk.

Yes, wood is not easily sterilized, but, as you know, wood surfaces are used to prepare foods, and you can clean them. They even make Clorox wipes for that purpose. My suggestion is that between shaves you should remove the blade, thoroughly rinse the razor in hot water, towel dry it, and then let it air dry. Clean your blade, dry it, and store it separately. I have a partial pack of CVS SE blades included, so each shaver should either use one of those or a new blade of their own.

The Woody is a novelty razor, so I suspect that after three or four shaves the novelty should wear off. After the novelty wears off for the shaver, he should clean the razor using hot water, Dawn, and an old toothbrush. Towel dry it and then let it dry over night before packing it up to send to the next shaver of questionable judgement.

The weakest part of this razor are the "blade stops." If they fail, then the razor will fail. So, care should be exercised to not slice them off.

When you are done, you contact the next guy on the list for mailing instructions.

If you can live with these rules/guidelines and would like to give it a try, then PM me. If you have any doubts, this pass around is not for you.

    Thanks for watching.

That is where "at your own risk" comes in, but I do not anticipate any splinters.
