Good..the owner(forgot her name)hasn't been posting in here as much as before(that I can recall).

 

Today's shave was with a very inexpensive Chinese Razor, that shaves like a dream. It takes and holds a fine edge. I had a very smooth 2 pass shave, that left me near BBS, no touch-ups. Zero issues, just a solid performing razor, for under $7.

Razor- Chinese "ZY".
Brush- B400 By Tom. WD Boar. 3 Hairs shed.
Soap- Arko/Avon Spicy
Aftershave- Vintage Avon Bay Rum.

YESTERDAY'S SHAVE


Prep: pre shave soap mix
Razor: Wilkinson Sword Classic

Post: CL 2018 LE Aftershave


Excellent shave yesterday. The scent of this soap is a dirty rose with bourbon and other notes, was not sure about it from the tub, but once lathered this may rival Rose Dunn as one of the best scents I have tried from Wild West. Lather was top notch and provided a great shave. Finished off with CL 2018 LE aftershave they were passing out at the Maggard Meet, smells citrusy and perhaps a bit floral. Nice stuff but scent faded pretty quickly, or perhaps I became immune to the scent.

Very nice refreshing shave this morning. Siliski Soaps have been working wonderfully. Thick lather that provided a top notch shave. Finished off with TSM Fougere salve which hopefully will help protect my skin, we are going to the beach today so will need all the help I can get. Hope everyone is doing well and getting great shaves.

 

Pulled out one of my favorites this morning and it provided an absolutely superb I hit it with a few laps on the red paste and see I left a little at the toe when I wiped it off...

Cranked up the Parthenon and not bad at all. Wide open it’s not as smooth as a Fatboy or Slim, but definitely more aggressive than either of them. The Feather was just a little grabby also around the neck area so it might be its last shave. Once I dialed it down to 7 & 6, the shave was much smoother and comfy on the 2nd and 3rd pass. Overall it competes with the Vintage Gillettes, especially in the lower settings as it feels a bit more efficient and just as smooth. Higher up in the adjustment in my experience it loses some smoothness and comfort against Gillettes best adjustable razors. Still though, the upstart Parthenon can hold its own and shave quite well. awesome review! Love the edp coment, it would fill a stadium! !! Yes the star jelly is so unique, no grease at all and so soothing.. it would convert lots of Non balm users.

Only one change today. The JR54 brush is in and the rest of the setup remains from yesterday. Well, one more change since I had no need for styptic today. The Fortitude soap really came into its own today scent-wise as it asserted itself well when I loaded the brush and lathered. It's still not as strong as the Courage but the scent profile is different so it shouldn't be. I spent some time taking it in and the three main scents, hay, tobacco, and rum, are all evident and make an excellent blend. A keeper, I'd say.

As for the shave? Fantastic. Hard to get a bad shave with a New LC, especially if you pay attention like I did today. Near-BBS, and just a great way to end a day off that had too many events in it to count as a day off. Oh well, back to the grind tomorrow so I can relax. I did also finish the day with some awesome Colorado Rye Whiskey on the rocks. Now that's living. Hope your weekend is off and running!
