I love the quality and workmanship on this razor .It is truly a great shaver . From Robert Williams Web Site Robert Williams Custom straight razors. I have been making Custom Straight Razors since 2006 and have been making knives for many years. All my razors are handmade and I do each step from forging, heat treating, art, engraving, scrimshaw, etc., right here in my shop. These are my own original designs, often in collaboration with customers and, though often copied, are not truly duplicated. The result of my experience and craftsmanship is a razor that is surpassed by no other in shaving quality. Whether you want a superior daily shaver or an heirloom set fit for a royal gift or anything in between, contact me and we’ll make it happen.
Not at all. The razor is 1 1/4" wide and hones/strops just like a 6/8". I use one layer of tape on the spine so it does not show any wear, scratches, etc. And thanks for your "Very cool" comment.
I have a monkey tail Wosty that is a pleasure to shave with. I'll have to take a picture of it to post here, although I know I showed it in a collection shot some months ago.
Joseph Rodgers & Sons Cutlers To Their Majesties No.6 Norfolk Street Sheffield England. This is one, I picked up, a while back, and just got around to restoring and honing it. It is the twin to one I acquired and posted about, last year. This one took on a very sharp edge.
Black HDWE Co. "Little Joseph" Detroit Mich. 5/8th inch 1/4 Hollow Just when you think you have something special, there pops up a minute crack in the middle of the blade. I only saw it, after I was buffing it out. I don't think the seller could even see it, because of the tarnish that was on it before. For a razor this small, it wouldn't be worth trying to fix. It is almost up to the etched line. Anyway, it is an interesting razor, that I haven't seen before. Oh well, $16 gone. It looks like a copy of the DePew Razors.
