Heribert Wacker is world renowned as a Master Razormeister. He worked for years at the Dorko and other famous brand companies before going it alone in Solingen building his reputation over many more years. Here is his biography: "Introducing Herr Heribert Wacker; he is the last independent Master Razor Craftsman in Solingen, Germany. Heribert is one of only two masters of the trade remaining in Germany. Heribert has been making fine quality straight razors for sixty years after doing his apprenticeship at Dorko. He then obtained work with Puma and later with Dovo. Heribert is a third generation razor maker and is presently training his son to follow in his footsteps. Heribert scours Solingen looking for new razor blanks to grind and will turn any old razor blank into a work of art. You will notice he utilizes his tradional family brands of Wacker and Jungmeister at times." Let's honor this man for his prolific work by showing your Heribert Wacker razors. Here to get things going is my contribution: New Bought this beauty around three months ago. Russian Damask blade created by Russian blacksmith Matveev & Son. Blade and horn scales were fabricated by Heribert Wacker, Master Razormeister, in Solingen Germany.
Thanks Jayaruh! This is the last expensive razor that I will buy. My collection will be passed to my son who also enjoys shaving with straight razors. This Damask razor will be used, like all of my razors, not just sit on a shelf as though it is a museum piece. Similar to Jay Leno's cars...he drives them rather than let's them gather dust.
I am lucky to have some pretty great friends... with cool hobbies! At work, I was asked if I wanted to try out this razor for the weekend: Well, that was an easy answer It is his Best Tradition or Traditional razor. Not sure which but very cool. As with a lot of his razors, some very classy spine work: Will be giving it a spin tonight. Tom
