I am currently ensconced in a hotel room in Lancaster, PA, where I will be shooting in an outdoor tournament tomorrow. It is supposed to a rain heavily and these are rain-or-shine events (barring lightning.) I’ve shot in the rain before, but never in heavy rain. I’m just hoping I still have some arrows left by the end.
Good luck, and hopefully the wind doesn’t blow. It’s funny you said your location and 2 others said they were 90 minutes from you. I’m 90 minutes as well, in Frederick, Maryland.
I would love to watch you shoot. I hope you do well and are pleased with your performance. Let us know how it goes.
Good luck! And remember, the English won at Agincourt in the rain as well ;-) -- Pitralon forever - Real pens have a nib - If it doesn't tick, it's not a watch.
Thanks for all the good wishes. We got very lucky with the weather. The predicted storm has yet to arrive and I am now back in my hotel room. I scored a 443 (out of 720) in the preliminary round. This is not my best, but is well above my worst. The best part is that I came back with all my arrows. Then there was an elimination round for the top 4 in each shooting category. As there were only 2 entrants in my category, I made it to this round. My opponent is a national champion, so my second place finish, while very satisfying, was a foregone conclusion. Wanna see my medal?
