Like others, I have become an entirely synthetic user. They just work better for me and the prices are great

Nice brush. I have one synthetic, a CH2 and it is sits idly by in my dopp kit waiting for me to travel. Otherwise, no usage. Best aspect: Fast drying.

Really enjoying my recent synth purchases.

Green Ray has a very soft feel with a good backbone, lathers with ease.

got mine and so far i like it. kinda messy for face lathering since it seems to throw soap when doing circular motions.
i find the paint brush strokes to be a bit neater.

This is a fine looking brush. Indeed the synthetic brushes are running away with the race when it comes to cool designer handles. I have one synthetic brush that is a beautiful thing to behold, but I don't use it much. I still prefer my badger and boar brushes. Just my preference for natural fibres.

Trying out my RR400 and I may need to replace the knot...just isn't living up to the standards of the others...just feels lackluster, dig the handle!

Don’t you feel the handle is a little light? I bought both the aluminium one and the plastic one for research purposes. The plastic one is too light for me.

I it hollow? I could see filling the handle with BB's; then it would have a nice heft. :happy088:

I think it is solid plastic.

I also have the 400 with the noir knot. I actually really like it. And mine feels heavy enough as well. The knot performs nicely for me and it has quickly jumped to be my favorite of all my synthetics. I also bought the Beehive at the same time for the same reason, to have monster sized knot. It makes the name of their other brush, The Monster, sort of improperly applied now since the Beehive is significantly larger. But for my smallish sized face, the 400 has become my go to synthetic.

    That F400 looks sweet!

On the 400 Butterscotch Noir it is a little light weight and might benefit from some extra weighting. I picked it up vs the aluminum version to try out the noir knot since I had a number of plissoft knots already...if this had the right carrier it would make a great travel brush.

I have warmed slightly to the noir knot but I still may end up replacing it.
    Pros -
Length/loft of knot ; this with med. weight backbone allows for a good lather maker
Comfortable knot - smooth paintbrush like not scritchy feels very light
Time trusted handle design fits comfy in the hand

    Cons -
Light weight knot doesn't hold enough lather or soak up enough water - as a darksider I use a little lighter wetter lather than this knot likes to load up on

    Just my ramblings :eatdrink013:

So far my favorite synth knot is the PSA GreenRay, followed by the RRBeehive just for sheer size

    Cheers!

I've been getting into synth's lately. Anyone have any comments on the Simpsons synth line?

The Simpson's synth is unlike any other synth in the market now. The fibers are soft but packed densely. They have tons of backbone and can really dig into a soap. I've dubbed the Chubby 2 Synthetic "The Soap Destroyer" because of this. Also they will whip up a thick creamy lather quicker then any other synth I've tried.
