Any chance you're joining us for Cinco de Julio?

  1. Of course. In fact, I save my popsicle sticks for just this occasion!

  2. Don't forget to tell them to shim the blade and bloom the soap.
  3. At a minimum, bloom the soap.
  4. Thanks Jim, appreciate the compliment.
  5. Razor: Rockwell 6s (plate #3)
    Blade: Nacet (3)
    Brush: Van Der Hagen boar
Soap: Van Der Hagen (not sure which one - I think Luxury?)
    AS: Pinaud Clubman

Another fab, drama free, gluten free, BPA free, close shave.

Decided to drag out the Van Der Hagen brush today. They get a bad rap, but I still get a kick out of using it on occasion. It’ll still shed a hair now and then, but nothing like it did in the beginning.

I’m quite impressed with the Nacet. I remember seeing reviews somewhere online where people thought they were rough and, some even said, too sharp (is that really a thing? Who wants to use a dull razor blade?). I find them to be the complete opposite. You know that coveted 2nd shave on a blade feeling? That’s how these felt right out of the box to me. They might even be a touch smoother than the GSB, which is one of my favorites. It’s easy to forget that the blade is in the razor during the shave. The smooth face proves otherwise. Plenty of sharpness to be efficient…just smoooooth….

The Van Der Hagen soap soldiers on…and looks like it will for awhile yet. And, that’s ok by me. A healthy hit of Clubman to finish things off…I’m good to go.

  8. Thank you, Clint! IMO, the donkey milk Wholly Kaw is one of the best soaps I have tried. It honestly maybe my favorite. The post shave feel is just terrific, and it is plenty slick enough. The AS is also very nice. The earlier versions were pretty much like Fine, just water, alcohol, menthol, and fragrance. They have started adding some additional skin care stuff, and I would also say they are pretty good. Not quite to the level of Chatillon Lux, but still good.

  10. Great photo, Jim! Looks like an all-star lineup.
  11. Nice report Bruce. Gluten free shave is vital.
  12. Another excellent photo and report, Joseph! Congrats on scoring such a nice Ranger Tech, too! I don't recall seeing the C.O. Bigelow Bay Rum. Is that new for them?
  13. Yeah...I can see the potential downside to using a light sabre. On the upside, one can save on dermatology appointments. :D
  14. Thank you Jim!
  15. Thanks, Joseph! Indeed it is...:D
  16. Another great write up and photo. Now you’re enabling on Aftershave.

I found skin stretching to be the key to comfort on my neck regardless of the tool of choice.
I heard and tried it numerous times before it finally 'clicked' for me.
