I want to buy the following belt for casual wear: https://www.hugoboss.com/uk/reverse...ther/hbeu50385380_401.html?cgid=23500#wrapper The thing is - it's not black, so I am not sure it would go well with dark blue jeans (the usual colour I wear). Not to mention paired with black trainers. And not to mention it's 3.5mm wide and not 4 - the usual width for casual belts. Do you think it would fit? I would go with the black version, unfortunately it's out of stock. Thank you.
It's not my taste, but that matters not a whit. Just about any belt goes with dark blue denim. If you like it, you should wear it. You're not pairing it with a tuxedo. For what it's worth, I prefer a dark, well-oiled brown belt with my Levi's.
Thank you! What about the width? Doesn't 3.5 mm look too thin and more suited towards formal office pants? Should I go 4mm?
The color is fine. Black belt with black shoes is a good pairing with jeans. I went with fosterweld's black distressed belt, so it would function equally well as a brown or black belt. https://www.fosterweld.com/collections/belts/products/vintage-black-belt?variant=1023885976 That's just me though.
Thanks. But as you can see in the picture, the belt is dark blue, not black. How would it go on dark blue jeans and black trainers? And how thin would it look in the loopholes if it's only 3.5cm wide instead of 4cm?
I would say no. But I also try to color coordinate my belts and shoes/boots. Most people don't. Since it's for casual wear, I'm going to assume you will wear your shirts untucked, in which case your belt will rarely be seen, so it doesn't matter what color it is. Maybe you should ask this question on styleforum?
Thanks! More suggestions are welcome! I also found black version of this belt (ideal scenario). The thing is that 3.5 cm width still concern me as to how it will look with casual jeans... I've looked over the web and most sites say for casual belts, width needs to be 4 cm.
You could get two belts. A second black, or brown. And I don't care about the width. I wouldn't mock you for it if I met you out 'n' about.
I suggest you buy the black one and quit worrying about a half a centimeter. Dude. A half a centimeter. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
Sorry, I have a bit of an OCD. Half a centimeter, but I don't want the belt to look weird when put through larger loopholes.
