That's the only way to get parts of my neck and face. Go slow and build the muscle memory up. (As a side note, its great training wheels for when you join the dark side and start with straights.)
A truly excellent review was forthcoming from the local theatre critic for the premiere of the new ballet based on The Barber of Seville...
Thanks, Bruce. My leg is healing really well. I had X-rays and a check last Thursday and all the bone jigsaw pieces are healing back together cleanly. I have another week on crutches with no weight on the leg, then two weeks "ghostwalking" with the crutches still as I gradually increase the weight on the leg, and then I should be back to walking around normally (and driving - yay!). So by the end of July I should be down to a cane at most and back to my normal lifestyle.
I actually have a couple of straights and do shave with them started a couple of years ago, but need to make it a habit. Might use them in a future 30 day rule. Also use a Feather Clubman SS shavette. I'm finding all the DE shaving stuff is fuelling my thinking with using SRs.
July 6th Schick E3 w Personna (2) Stirling Gentleman 30DC LE Thayers Jeeves OHS Tobacco/Bay AS Another good shave with the E3 this morning. I pulled out some favourites to go with it and had a decent 2 passer with a few touch ups. Did have a rare weeper that took the styptic to stop, however. Have a great day all!
That's awesome, John! I imagine you're about out of your mind by now, and feeling as if it's taking forever to heal up. Progress is being made, and there's light at the end of the tunnel. Just being able to drive again will be huge.
Good to hear from you again, John. Sounds like you are healing on schedule. What do you think of those Fendrihan branded soaps? I see they also have Fendrihan branded made in England Creams as well. Love that flattop! Glad to hear the shave was better today, Clint. I agree, everything is better on a Friday! Great pic and combo, Jim! That settles it, when I'm done with a week of the Schick, I'm pulling out my long-neglected 40s SS. Awesome! You've set the bar pretty high now, Joseph. We'll all be eagerly anticipating your next write ups! Nureyev? Not the usual Russians that get referenced on here...
Same setup today as yesterday.... Rockwell Nacet (6) Simpson Commodore X3 (Ol' Shedder) VDH soap Stirling Gentleman AS Today's the day, right? It's not gonna shed. It's not gonna shed. It's not gonna....damn.... Bumped up to plate #5. Nailed the shave (except for one tiny weeper, cuz I was lazy and dumb). Three passes, super smooth. Healthy dose of Stirling Gentleman to seal the deal. Superb. Have a fantastic Friday, fellas!
FYI, for those Shavey winners who have not received your award prizes, fear not. They will go out next week. The plague slowed down the fulfillment center.
Thanks Clint! Sooner or later it's gotta stop, right? If not - I'll reknot. It came from a BST on another forum. I don't know whether it was a shedder from the start (kinda doubt it), if the dude beat it around too much, or what the deal is.
