Went with this razor I got from @Jrdelgado after I cleaned and polished it. The blade has been used a few times, but that didn't stop it from delivering a very nice shave. Two passes with a little touch up for a very smooth and comfortable BBS shave.

SHAVE OF THE DAY

Prep: splash of hot water
Razor: Colonial General
Blade: Gillette 7oclock Platinum
Brush: Fine Angel Hair Synthetic
Soap: Coates Rose Cream
Post: Van Yulay Arabian Nights balm


Got a decent lather from the Coates Rose but this was not a enjoyable shave at all, lots of irriration and the balm burned like wildfire once applied. Don't really care for this razor which may have been the culprit, have noticed it can be temperamental sometimes. Hope everyone is doing well and getting great shaves.

 

Soap L'Occitane, Barcelona shaving brush badger HMW, razor Boker silver steel 6/8, after shave higher Christian Dior. A good shave.

Well after being #9 on the wait list and waiting 2.5 years for the Varlet Beehive, finally arrived mid May. Aldo stated he added 10% more hair than previous batches so don't know if that is true or not but I do like it. The handle size, crispness of the edges on the groves are the best of all the beehives I have or have tried to date. Was envious of yours for quite some time you know

 

Local Gent Field and Stream soap, Klenzo B75 bristle brush, Edvin Neiström straight with barber's notch, Chiseled Face Cryogen aftershave.

Two careful, slow passes on a really outstanding lather. A clean, very relaxing afternoon shave.

 

Are the groves deeper than other Beehive handles. They don't look as deep as some of my Beehive handle brushes.
