Razor - Soviet Consul Adjustable (9)
    Blade - [IMG] (1)
    Soap - Stirling Ozark Mountain
Brush - Stirling Pro Style Synthetic
    Post - Alum

Keeping it aggressive by going back to Mother Russia! The Consul adjustable is the one Soviet razor that I actually look forward to using. I could make a daily shaver out of this one. It has 9 settings just like the Gillette Adjustables, but it is more aggressive than the Gillettes. The gap on a Consul set at 9 is somewhere between a 9 on a Gillette and 6 on the Qshave. In other words, it makes the Gillette look mild, while the Qshave makes the Gillette look Weishi mild.

Stirling Ozark Mountain - again one of my top scents from them. Probably number two in line after Iced Coffee. Still working it out. Their big synthetic brush loads enough lather to open a car wash. Great slickness, feel, and scent and two passes and touchups with the Consul and a Sputnik blade brought another BBS to the house. The razor has a pack of vintage Sputnik blades included, hence my decision to use a modern Sputnik for these next three days.

For those coming to town on Friday be sure to check out the meetup thread. Some new info on there and more to come tomorrow. Looking forward to sharing some cookies with a few of you!

  10. Stunning pic, Clint. If THAT handle is on the chopping block, you have very high standards indeed!
    Safe travels (again!) Brian.
Sounds like congrats are in order, Perry! Are you moving towns, or just abodes?
I look forward to reading your posts everyday, Joseph. Great stuff!
Very nice pic! Hope the meetings went well today, Jim.
I’m going to have to buy it...As soon as I saw the ‘30 Day Crew’ scroll on it, it was a done deal. Sounds like the NB might still be intact even...
Beautiful photos, Mark, and it looks like only a day or two left in that soap!
Jim, your photos have fast become a highlight of the thread. Just fantastic. I really like that Splash as well.

Shaved early this morning, but then left town for an appointment for my wife. Kept the E3 focus going and will use it for a few more days. Love everything about the Cool, and it didn’t disappoint today. Knew it would be a long day and had 3 relaxing and smooth passes to start it. Have a great night all!
  12. Well Monday was shave #22 on the Brit Wilky and I had to concede that it was done. Even after a great shower/prep it was terrible. So my July 30/focus has changed (or failed) as I was bored of the Tech and decided to load a new Feather blade into my Merkur 34g. I'll use that combo for the rest of July along with the Plisson, Tabac and Nivea Balm. I'd say as far as comfortable shaves go for me, a vintage Brit Wilkinson Super Sword Edge blade is good for about 10-12 shaves. I have a few more of those that I got from a friend who was cleaning out their late fathers stuff so having used them before, I don't find anything particularly special about them. I can get around the same longevity from my Derby Extra blades (pre-2016) or Astra SP's. We'll see how the Feather makes out as others have reported a rapid decline in sharpness after the first few shaves.
  13. Wednesday Shave

The edge was just a little tuggy so it is time for a touch up, still produced a nice shave without irritation.
