Great post and photo, Joseph! Do you have more of the vintage Williams, or is it off to a different soap once this one is kicked?
July 13: Razor: Gillette Black Handle SS Blade: Polsilver Brush: PAA The Green Ray Lather: Stirling Glacial Lemony Orange Aftershave: Stirling Glacial Lemon Chill Additional Care: Stirling Unscented PSB A nice late morning shave this morning. My wife left early this morning on a mission trip for a week, so I am off with my kids today (the primary reason I am not able to make it to St. Louis this weekend). I broke out the black handle SS for smooth, but cold shave. Two passes, and a nice DFS. The best part of the shave was this: My two younger kids came in and joined me this morning. That is some thick, rich, and stable Williams lather my son is using @wchnu. My daughter decided to get in on it and started using a tooth brush like a razor. It definitely has us set up for a nice day. I hope everyone enjoys their day.
Mark reminded me of the release Saturday. Paladin has a release on the 15th with a brush I’ve been eyeing. The next few days will seriously test my willpower. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Great picture of a couple of cute kids. Thanks for sharing. We will miss you this weekend, but you have a great reason to stay home.

July 2018 July 13 - Head Shave Razor - Feather SS Artist Club - Pain Stick Blade - (1) Soap - Arko Brush - VDH Boar I know, I know, I'm early but this is just the head shave for this week. I normally don't report much on my weekly head polish except to say I did it. However, with the minions travelling in I thought it would be appropriate to honor their sacrifice by using a pain stick instead of the usual Merkur 23c. I usually don't go pain stick on my head unless I'm at 2 weeks growth but this is a special occasion. Soap is always Arko, well, 99% of the time, and the brush is my VDH Boar. I'm still using the one I got three years ago even though I got a new one not long ago in the shave kit I bought for the bowl and soap mostly. I'll switch out at some point but this one still functions well. My reason for staying with this brush and soap is simple. It's 100% reliable on giving me the slickest possible lather for a razor to work on my head. Needless to say, and as those of you who shave your heads can attest, cuts and scrapes up there are much less fun than those on your face. The Feather SS offers a slight challenge over my other two sticks due to the lip it features as a way of making it "safer" to use. It isn't a huge difference, but it is a slight angle adjustment from both the Kai and CJB models. Also the Feather DX which they are based on. Still, I like the SS in spite of the lip and it does a great job. I did, however, finally draw just a touch of blood after my third bad set down. Two zingers (which usually bleed with the sticks but not this time) and finally an ouch moment when I set down too fast and straight. Minor blood loss. No problem, really, just a shake my head at my own stupidity moment. The usual Heisenberg pass in the shower to make sure it's all smooth and I'm ready to go to dinner tonight! Is it 7 o'clock yet? Is it? Yet? Please?
