I sent away for a tin of this as the present batch on sale is going to be the last for the foreseeable future. I have been in contact with the makers and they explained that they feel everyone is ready for something new in the category of summer seasonal soaps. So if you like this scent and want to get a tin before it's sold out for good, I recommend you do so before you miss your chance.
Grrrrrr.... This has been on my to try list for a long time but I’ve never gotten around to it. And I’m currently doing a no-buy 2018 to deplete some stocks.
I'm sure you can justify making an exception to your rule for this year, if it means grabbing up something that's being discontinued. That, or if you want I can PIF you my pre-owned tin so you can try it out.
Thanks for the offer. I’m curious, do you know how the scent compares to some of the Stirling citrus scents?
You're welcome. It definitely has a strong citrus scent, but that's natural given the essential oils present in the formula. The added menthol helps to ease any citrus-bite you might otherwise feel on your skin. I had tried the Lime-Mint from Artisan Soap Shoppe, and found that without menthol it was a bit harsh. The lather itself is, as is typical with Dr. Jon's, really slick and should provide plenty of glide.
To me Hydra is a very lemon forward scent with the other citruses hanging out in the background. Nothing quite like it in a Stirling offerings, MITA would probably be the closest. Hydra use to be one of my favorite citrus scents but now I've found others that I like better. I find the scent strength on the Stirling citrus scents to be a bit stronger. Satsuma smells like an orange sweet tart, Lemony Orange Smells like a glass of orange juice with a squeeze of lemon, Glacial Lemon Chill and Lime both smell like cutting into their respective fruits.
