Any chance you're joining us for Cinco de Julio?

  1. Of course. In fact, I save my popsicle sticks for just this occasion!

  2. Of all the things to try to profit on... a dated LE meant for a specific group of folks which will be released later under a different label anyway...yeesh.
I didn’t think we were that popular.
  3. Thank you Jim.

Wonderful photo Jim. Blackland certainly makes some good looking razors.
  4. Romera...
Awesome write-up, Joseph. Agreed- Life is too short for bad brushes.
Yup, it must be Sunday with the Blu. Love the quarter sawn White Oak table top, Clint, and am drooling over the snacks as well...
I find the same quality differences on the British Aristocrat Jr as well, Jim. I’m sure the British Rockets are very similar. A new soap?
    Awesome photo again, Jim!
In honour of @Bama Samurai and his need to point out Canadian talent, I propose a new trade. We’ll keep the lovely Ms. Krall, and you can keep the recently engaged Biebs in LA. As a pot sweetener, we’ll throw in her hubby, Elvis, to be repatriated.
  5. Thanks, Clint.

  7. I've had this one for a while, just like all my soaps, it doesn't see enough use. It is a very woodsy scent, but not at all piney. I really like it. My wife hasn't commented on it, so I am not sure it is her favorite, but I enjoy it quite a bit.
  8. Thank you Jason. The kitchen table has been in my Father's family for several generations. I cherish being able to use it now.

  9. Honestly, Jeeves has thier own fanboys, who purchase every scent they come out with, but I don’t think ost strong enough to resell for a profit. Maybe a store or something.

  10. Awesome to have a piece in the family that long, Clint! We have an antique solid 1/4 sawn white oak dining table, but alas, it is not a family heirloom such as yours.

  11. The best part of this morning’s shave was the look on my wife’s face when she asked if we had any plans for the day, and I told her I had a date with a Drunken Goat. First use of this soap, The Drunken Goat from Mickey Lee Soapworks, which was a gift from @mrchick following the meet up. I also think it was the last one on their website. The smell is a mix of Guinness, sweet bourbon, something like a cookie. It’s awesome! As far as performance, it’s a pretty thirsty but gives a really good lather once hydrated. Slickness is great, and was able to do some touch up without relathering. Post shave feel was awesome.

Used a Kinfolks razor. I’m always amazed by the stellar performance of this little guy. Three passes and some touch up, even without theblather for the touch up, and just short of BBS with minimal irritation. Alum was quiet, and finished off with one of the few aftershaves that seemed to fit with the soap, Mandom. Picture is the first SOTD photo in the new bathroom.

  16. Keep Elvis. We have Jane Monheit
  17. I just don't understand soap hoarders. :angry032: :happy097:
  18. Congrats Adam. The new shave den is taking shape!
  19. SOTD for July 22, 2018

Prep: Cold water and Stirling mentholated pre-shave soap
    Blade: vintage Personna twin
    Razor: Schick L1 injector
    Brush: Stirling Kong synthetic
    Soap: Stirling Grapefruit
Post: Witch hazel, Stirling Glacial Lemony Orange aftershave

Fine shave after being out with some great students and painting the field for tomorrow's band camp. We'll be outside all day each day next week. It's hot but you keep hydrated with cold water and Gatorade and make it through. This particular group of students looks to be a special unit and I'm looking forward to what we can accomplish.

I'll be shaving in the evenings in the next week so that I'm not slathering tons of sunscreen on a freshly shorn face. The Stirling Grapefruit is the next victim for soap reduction. What a great scent!

    Enjoy your evening.

  20. Great write up and photo Adam. I know you're happy to see progress on the construction.

Wonderful photo Perry. Good luck next week.
